hey, I am tired of 10 year old computers. hahaha. So I'm building a brand new one. I wanted to see what you guys thought about it and whether or not you could help me on some parts. So far I got pretty much everything except a PSU, Video Card, and kinda a motherboard.
Here is what i got so far.
Case: Thermaltake Element G Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
If anyone would have a suggestion or anything I will be willing to take a look.
I am kinda waiting on graphics cards, cause I do plan on using windows 7. and I hear that it will support direct x 11. So i dont see getting a direct x 10.
(note: this computer will play diablo 3. but thats not all it will be used for. so just throwing that at you people so we keep the "way overpowerful for diablo 3." comments down to a minimum.
My suggestion for you would be to buy two or four modules of RAM instead of three, so you can use them in dual channel. Also, if you want DX11 then you might want to go with ATI's 5000 series, no real benchmarks with optimized drivers yet but it seems to perform very well and at the same time run on low wattage.
Hehe stupid intel boards. Good and go with a 5850 they are reasnably priced and are very good. They are more energy effecient and quieter. This will be my build...
GPU either 5870x2 5850x2 5870 or 5850. If i somehow find a million bucks im gunna QUAD CFX 5870x2s so imagine that 4 5870x2s running simultaneously.
I got a true dragone build here. And if i ever want to oc this board does it amazingly true on the fly overclocking knob on the MOBO and my 955 can OC up around 4.8 GHz on air cooling alone. Ill prob buy a scythe heatsink if do decide to OC. I'm mostly gunna be playing games such as crysis CS fallout 3 diablo maybe wow SC2 CC4 a bunch of others. MY monitors gunna be a dell 24 inch havent decided if im gunna get the one thats supposed to be one of the best monitors ever(SP2408W?) or a cheaper one.

well with the motherboard i have. it has triple channel. so it has 6 RAM slots and can support 24 Gigs of RAM. and plus i can always get more ram. lol
I will check out the 5000 series thanks
also, nice build there Entity, but I kinda like intel just because i understand what I am looking at. hahaha. Whenever I try and look at AMD processors I just get confused. hahahaha.
yeah. i dont plan on building it soon. by the begining of this month my 400 bucks left in my bank account will go to 0 for rent and bills. hahahaha. but once i get the money i will build this computer. and now that windows 7 released today im sure they will have more hardware to support stuff.
Yeah I myself changed up my build to meet better demands like instead of 5850's im going with dual 5770's so i can match the preformance of dual 4890's while using DX11 and taking full advantage of most games. I also am no longer usin the corsair obsidian series as its just too much money although id love to use it. I'm currently going with either one of three The Raven Rv02 for its style and because it is one of the best air cooling cases, the antec 900 2 because it is highest rated so thats gotta be a good thing and the coolermaster haf 922. Because of its cheap easy nice solution i also find it a very alluring case as well.
