Since there is no sports forum here, I am hoping that this is the best forum for a sport. o.o'
Now, I realize there is a Poll thread on "NBA Season 09' " but, this isn't limited to just the NBA. This discussion is for basketball at any level, anywhere around the world. Be it College Ball, Olympics, World Championships, Euroleagues, Highschool ball or maybe even just you playing with your friends.
As for me, I play basketball at the high school level. In our area, we're supposed to have two teams: Junoir (Grades 9 and 10) and Senoir (Grades 11 and 12), but our team has had coaching issues, and so we just had 1 varsity team. I'm in grade 12, and this was my last year for being in high school and possibly last chance I'm on any real team.
Some may have read my blog - bt for those who didn't, I had suffered a severe ankle sprain during the very frst tryouts of the season, and had to miss all the followig tryouts. However I made the team regardless, and I participated (to the max that I could do) in the first practice. Naturally the first two games of the season I was slow, unable to defend well, and couldn't shoot worth crap. Lets face it, I was rusty (I had no team in grade 11), coming off an injury and was feeling emotionally unstable during those times. But thankfully in our game against Dunnville, I managed to break out of my funk and managed to drill a couple of Trifectas and assists and the works.
But the basically, by the tie we got to our zone championship, I came off the bench in the first quarter and a few minutes in, BAM! Severely sprained that ankle, AGAIN. So I was out for the rest of the season and decided to call it quits for basketball altogether. But now, my ankle is mostly healed up, the rest of my body aches a bit - but it doesn't bother me too much. And everything is over, no more basketball chances. Now, I am going to Carleton University (the best basketball university in Canada), but I believe it is too late to join their team next year (my first year there), however maybe the year after I'll tryout. But I've been told that they hold "Campus Leagues" or something like that, where one floor from the Residence is one team, and faces another floor, and stuff like that. Which I can't wait for. But I have nothing to do right now. I mean, yes, I have my own court at home, but I can only play by myself. None of my friends are much of a challenge, and practicing by myself for hours on end is no fun. Sadly, I don't know where to go to find a decent challenge. So again, I am feeling stressed out from anxiety, and seriously - I need to kick someone's ass right now.
So! Feel free to talk about anything basketball, lol.

Er, my apologies - I shold have mentioned this earlier, but I live out in the country. The only courts we have around are in our schools, and all the basketball programs, basketball teams, and pick up games seem to be all done. One might be able to be started up, but that wold mean paying for to use the gym during those hours. =/

This was my last year of track maybe forever. The future looks bleak but is still unknown for me. But I do know this much. IT has to come to an end sometime. You have to be able to accept when it's over it's over. You can't look back on it and think about "what if's"
Heres what I say...Play some local stuff for a while. Pick up games or w/e so you don't get rusty. And then about 8 months before the next season condition your ass off for 5 and train on drainin' those shots for 2 or 3 months. Then when you go to try out you will be ready.
If your good enough then look at it as a goal or something to shoot for (pun intended). Make the team, don't let it be over if you can help it.
