There's a few people here I'd be really sad to see go. The rest would just be random person you may have met once that died. It sucks, but not on a personal level. But i'd feel bad for those affected.
If I disappear unnanounced from here for over two weeks, you can all assume I'm dead. (Or at very least seriously close to dying).

Yeah I would definitely want to know if some of my online friends died. And Id want them to know I died and not think I was just ditching them. I thought that article was pretty sad actually. I was gone for a while from the site, I hope you didnt think i was dead! Ive just been going through the tough things. anyways, Ne1 that has been an active member from 06 and 07, if I heard that they passed away id be pretty sad.
EDIT: Not to say I wouldnt be sad if anyone died from the site but esp those ppl cause I know them more.
I think you make stronger Internet friendships over Instant messengers, in-game chat or Ventrilo than you do on Forums.
I'll agree with that. IM transfers the emotional component a bit better, but often forums led to IM convos.

That's probably true for me as well... this is why members who leave the forum often leave a "I'm leaving" message, so that people know what's going on.

That'd bum me out. I'm growing used to our sexy IM conversations. *chortles*
Personally, I have had some friendships on WoW. I have actually met them a couple times as well, and they are nice people. You do get strong bonds on those times of games though, because they are people that will listen to you. It is like someone giving a shoulder to cry on.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
I have a few friendships over the internet that are more important to me than any of my real life friendships. Sad or not, it's true. I think my real life friends just suck, lol.
