hollywood has really decided money is the #1 I mean were seeing so many sucky paradoy movies now. Ten again someone before me said that were also to blame because we make them #1 in the box office.
Don't feel like reading this all, but read the first page.
First off, Harold and Kumar was HILARIOUS! If you don't like raunchy comedy then why would you even go and see that in the first place?
As far as my opinion on movies and the quality of them....
I feel that creatively, Hollywood is in a slump. There are so many remakes that are being done. To name a recent, Get Smart. It's a remake of a 60s TV series. Get Smart was HORRIBLE! It was trying to be an action/comedy and failed in both departments. Steve Carell is a funny guy, but not even he could save Get Smart.
Also, the fact that Hollywood keeps pushing out more comic hero movies, versus originals is a sign in itself.
So basically the quality of movies is going down, hopefully we'll see a return but I'm doubtful it will be in the next couple of years.
I actually love comedy, but my opinion is that harold and kumar is just a piece of worthless shit, and that's also one of my points, were not seeing originals anymore, were just seeing remakes, mabey hollywood ranout of idea's? Still it's seems MONEY MONEY MONEY is all they can really think about these days.
Harold and Kumar isn't funny.
Get smart wasn't funny.
Steve Carell isn't all that funny.
In my opinion Chris Farley was the funniest actor ever.
Tommy boy, black sheep although very similar, very funny.
Jim Carrey is often funny.
Even the Number 23 was awesome, it's one of my favorite movies, The majestic sucked.
Some good movies are
Clerks
Can't hardly wait
malibus most wanted
meet the parents
me, myself and Irene
Bekind rewind
Donnie Darko
Braveheart AMERICAN HISTORY X <-------- My all time favorite movie.
My favorite actors are, Edward Norton and Chris Farley.

I am not a fan of Jazz music.
on a good day.... Optimistic and freedom-loving Jovial
and good-humored Honest and straightforward
Intellectual and philosophical
On a bad day.... Blindly optimistic and careless
Irresponsible and superficial Tactless and restless
Action is worthless, as far as I am concerned. Especially action you do not engage in.
action gives movies meaning... without action you would basically have an npr radio program on tv... BORING
and some great movies came out in the past couple years... i am legend, american gangster, life free or die hard, james bond: casino royale, the kingdom, underworld, underworld:evolution, rambo and a few more i own but am too lazy to go look at the titles... oh yea 3:10 to yuma (remake), the lord of the rings series, king kong, ironman, get smart, sweeny todd...
action is important, but action can not be truly great without meaning, and the plot gives the meaning. Action and plot need to coexist together inorder for a truly good movie.
People today want flashing lights and big explosions and sex. So Hollywood give it to them.
Few want to spend 3 hours in a theatre getting to like a character or actually having to think about something. CGI because they can. It's what people want.
Not me. I want story, character, emotion, no big guns, no cheesily one liners, no overly-cheesy and predictable plots, and for the love of god no kicking my childhood in the balls! Thank you very much Michael Bay and your buddy Uwe Boll. Keep your filthy franchise ruining mitts away from Diablo!!!
American History X over Incredible Hulk anyday.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
It's hard to find intelligent entertainment in todays cinema market, however it does exist! It isn't just limited to the rare "smart comedy" or an action film with gripping, heart-wrenching, and exciting "concepts." It can penetrate into other genres, for example, Pans Labyrinth. It may have been in spanish, but it's fictional merit is undeniable. All of this aside, entertainment is purely based on opinion and preference, if the world wants simplicity, that is what it shall receive.
the question speaks for itslef, within the last year espically i think hollywood has lost it. Whether it be movies like 'Meet the spartans' it has turned into perverted nonsence. So what are your thoghts?
Welcome to the internet, everyone knows everything and no one likes anything.
Movies are in their Dark Age, if you would. As for me; you folks can at least enjoy Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk and all that. >_<
What's mainly gotten to me about movies is they're:
yeah i have not seen a new movie in theatres for a long time... but this month i have alot of movies that actually appeal to me now... i am surprised, because i was thinking the movie companies were just making crap lately... i hate when they remake old movies unless they do it right and i am starting to get tired of the satires and dance movies...
here are the movies i want to see that look good for a change...
Wall-E
Hancock
The Dark Knight
Mummy 3
X-Files 2
Journey to the Center of the Earth
i am actually excited to go to the movie theatre for once in a long time... just saw Hellboy 2 over the weekend and loved it... so fun...
ive heard hancock was actually preety bad, like around halfway thrugh it went from being a movie about a super hero who was trying to reform himself, to someother shit, im not telling spoilers. Get smart flooped also, and strangly wall-e was a hit in my book, all my predictions were wrong >_>
it also seems that hollywood has fallen in love with scuky parody comideies, like disaster movie, superhero movie, and meet the spartens.

Hello, fellow Farley fan.
As long as men like those two are alive, Hollywood will continue to suck.
It's been ages since I've seen a good movie in a theater, with the exception of Iron Man, because that was pretty rad for a comic movie.

Argument is over
What's mainly gotten to me about movies is they're:
A remake of some other film, book, or even game.
Or completely and totally worthless 'comedy'.
I do not mean an unnatural calmness.
