the imbalance is ridiculous.
im soooo tired of human.
tht damn game is racist against anyone trying to play orc or undead. EVERYONE plays human and humans own orc and undead soooo hard. its so difficult to defeat a human player that is of equal skill and is impossible to beat one thats better than you.
you KNOW a hero is messed up when (paladin) it can go invuln and run into an entire undead army by itself and holy light a lvl 5 lich with enough mana to kill it and leave and do it several times. its so wrong.
their towers are so wrong.....their units are WAY too cheap in comparison to orcs....
and dont even get me started on mountain king. he can pick off units with such ease. that his bolt stuns forever is so unfair because he already has a stun.
a death knight doesnt have a stun.....ya death coil can heal....but what else can heal??holy light from a pally! its ridiculous.
thats y i think ill try out sc earnestly. well....thought id vent... i think this holds a LITTLE more weight than all those other "what about this theory?!?!" posts that start with "i dont know if this is already on the board or not but...."and they are always way old...

Yep. Fuck WoW. Join the ranks of SC players! Best balanced RTS around, mind you, no imbalance crap in our corner... I'd play you if you want. If my internet won't kill us, that is...

It's the truth. There are some people who may disagree but they are just bad players who do not understand the complex qualities of certain races. I personally play Random, and I can't put my finger on which race I play best with. The main issue with SC is most people are pretty good. But I only started playing like last summer and I pulled out, so can you.
The thing i hate most about humans are their siege tanks. Perfect anti-air perfect building destructor. If you have tier 3 knights and a pally escorting.... GG pull the plug.
I think the undead are the most fun to play. But i can win better with night elves

like my thing with warcraft was..it was fine the first two years i played. i played strictly with orc. i could be ok with other races but im a beast with orc, but even though hu is still so freakin beast lol. it will just suck learning over an entire rts. that will be hard to try to learn fast. my micro will transfer over but hotkeys and knowing stats and strats will be a big pain. should i try out sc:1 first?

ya, i think ud is waayyy funner to play even than orc, but im not that great with them. siege tanks get OWNED by any other siege. for orc atleast raiders tear apart tanks....and usually by the time any human gets tanks on me i already have at least a lvl 7 blademaster to own them lol. games usually dont get to tank level

By SC1 I guess you mean the original StarCraft? I'd say absolutely no. There's just no point, because all the new things from BW pretty much changed the face of many strategies.
First, you need to learn all your units, all your abilities, and the hotkeys. The best way to do that is play the CPU, play some friend who will not kill you, or even make some empty map in the editor to just see what buildings can you build. Then you combat the CPU to just some indistinct feel for the units. Frankly, this stage is very short compared to everything else...
The next step for me was build orders. You can get them by googling or something. They are good for beginner players, but later you wouldn't need them. They basically tell you what to build how to build against what race and under what conditions.
With build orders you need strategies. There are some ways: improvise and experiment, e.g., just play a lot and see what works and what doesn't. Watch replays of pro players, or just players better than you. Read guides written by those pro players.

There is a site for replays: www.gosugamers.net
Of course SC has a replay option, lolz
haha, well thats wer i would learn everything. i know that once i learned all the basic stuff i could just practice a few strats on some comps and go play people from there. no heroes though, that takes away a big dimension of fun. and no heroes in sc2 either

Don't mention heroes to me. I hate them. And if Blizzard dared implement them in SCII, they wouldn't live much longer. Different game, you see.
I started playing with people very early. I played in a league, in fact. It's actually pretty helpful, because you are playing on the EDGE and you learn fast.

heroes are SOOO much fun. it made wc3 different from ANY OTHER rts. it made it very special to me. i think every army needs a leader. can anything in sc level or get stronger?

I got a question for you. Why don't you just go and play WCIII if you like it so much? SC is one game. WC is another. Don't mix.
No, God forbid.
wc has heroes but blizz made it horrible lol. dont get me wrong i like wc and all but it sux now. and dont get me wrong i want to play sc but i would love to have heroes in it lol

In one of the Q&As for SC2 in the Terran single player mode, your troops learn veterancy over time. Making them stonger.
So techincally there is a "leveling" feature in SC2 just not the way you think.;)
