Well are approaching winter and so far, it's one of the coldest winters up here in Oregon. I missed this entire week of school because of icy roads and weather. The temperature average is about 34 degrees (this is the high temp actually). So I was wondering whether you guys are experiencing the same thing? How is it where you live? Do you have snow? Just a little something to talk about before Christmas.
Jesus. Then I guess it's only me. I had no school today as well because of road and weather. And while I am snowboarding down hills, you all seem to be tanning on beaches.

Not exacly. Just the regular kind of weather here in Sweden with temperatures just above freezing.
Rain is great during Christmas, isn't it?

Surprisingly, I have only been to the Northern countries (counting Scandinavia and the Northern part of the main body). I was in Finland, Wales, England, Poland, Germany, and Spain, which is the only non-Northern country I've been in. I still have never been to the Alps, which kind of pisses me off. In winter, I have only been in Poland and Finland though.

Nah, you're not alone. I live in the western part of lower Michigan, so I get to experience the joys of lake-effect snow every winter, along with the fun that comes with living in a city that hates to part with their precious tax money.
The roads here are terrible because the city is scaling back on the use of salt and sand trucks this year (yay, saving money). They're refusing to do work on many of the side streets, so people are having a really hard time getting to school or work because of it.
Hell, my boyfriend recently got into a car accident on his way home from work about two weeks ago because he has to travel down a street that the city refused to work on. According to the people that towed the car, there was another accident on that same corner just a few hours later; and yet, nothing was done to take care of the problem.
southeastern michigan sucks too. Almost everyone at school has spun out or crashed their cars due to ice. Two of my friends slid into a ditch when trying to make a turn.

in in souther cali. i couldnt get home last night. big big snow storm and tons of parts in cali that never see snow are seeing inches of snow. i finally got home today. we had a solid 1' of snow and we never have snow in these parts
It's pretty cold in Utah. About 22 degrees at night and expected to drop to 9 this weekend. We're not even getting that much snow really. The air is just really thin and bitter and there's black ice in several places on the roads. It's pretty miserable. At least when it snows it's much warmer. But with no clouds in the sky it only gets colder.
lol its a winter wonderland in northern minnesota. got a good sticked snowfall. its really nice. um idk how much we got. but its at least 5 inches so far. and hopefully it snows major the next couple of days then. SNOWMOBILING!!!
The snow melted now and it's just cold as hell and wet. We're supposed to have snow at night though so maybe this whole week can be school-free. I would like that since I still need to go Christmas shopping.

You live in Sweden? That's pretty bad ass. Now I forgot the languages they speak there (does is have its own language?), but yeah, that's pretty cool.
Anyway, Europe is always cold in the winter. After all those times I've been there during Christmas it always had at least a foot of snow.
And yes, we do have our own language. Surprisingly enough, it's called Swedish! (and what do you know, there's actually a wiki article on on :P)
What country, and what part of it? It makes a huge difference.
