Hi guys, im a bit of a noob when it comes to making my own threads, and i had no idea how to make a poll, so ill just do it like normal.
What would you give the movie 300 a rating of out of 10 and why?
I thought it was quite possibly the best movie ive ever seen. It had a good and historically significant storyline, good acting, the best battle scenes ive ever seen (maybe equal with LotR) and was even long enough to satisfy me.
i know this movie is good but i havent seen it, so thats kinda lame, i should really rate it if i havent seen it, but from the trailer id say 10/10.
EDIT...
oh crap i made the poll multiple choice, that kinda sucks

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
it was ok. fighting scenes were awsome, but the historic and story aspect sucked
historically they got the whole thing wrong, even thou there were some exaggerations the parts they wanted to get right were wrong
i coulda told u the whole story after the first battle scene started totally unoroginal

DIABLO = DEVIL its not supposed to be a nice game autostats are rediclous lack of pots is not welcome if it aint broke dont fix it! (diablo2)
it does show how the use of terrain and the bravery of a few people can defeat a vast army. Also shows a few things about betrayal and patriotism. Wouldnt say theres no message in it. Plus there is historical background in it, so its pretty much like "watching what happened there" even with some fantasy involved.
When one takes a book or a historical fact, and creates a movie from it, the message remains with the book or the historical fact. Exceptions are when the author of the book is the scriptwriter (director, etc.) of the movie. The purpose of the movie, then, is to transfer the message of the book to the watcher, or to make a new message based on the book or fact. Such as Forrest Gump. But when the message is the same, but the setting has nothing to do with the original, rendering the message be unrelated, the movie is just thrash. Or, perhaps, the comic book is, in 300's case, which is historical plagiarism.
havent actually read the comic book, but if you exclude the part of the monster like Persians and Efialtes (that name translated in english would be Nightmare - same as a "bad dream" in greek) it was pretty close to the truth and the historical message passed through the movie aswell. And you got to admit people dont usually read. They prefer the easy "watching" on tv (thats why i hate it when they're completely historical incorrect).

Displaying enemies like that is pretty bad anyway... not a direct dumbing down, but still... "No one shall ever defeat an enemy because they are good shots and the enemy are bad shots." (c) Supreme Beans, Directive # 9
The whole point of fighting an enemy is fighting a worthy enemy...
Anyway, there is enough stuff mixed up with real history, enough stuff to mutilate it. And I don't care what people usually do, you don't want to hear my opinion about "people". I'm not "people". I read. I don't have a TV. And that is not how I want it to be displayed. Even the original "300 Spartans" was better. For me, this is a hype collecting movie.
i didnt see it in the cinema either, i'm just used of history being completely mutilated (Hercules, Troy) so i saw 300 as an improvement. At least the main historical events are true
i do have a counter point for

that was like that back then as the ancient Greeks fought the Persians. What the Persians didnt have in quality, they had in quantity. They also were way wealthier and bought traitors everywhere. Everyone had his own weapons back then.
