In game, the spelling is Tyrael, but when you open the speech files (via mpq reader), it says Tyreal! Not sure why have they done that...
It must be one of those "little mistakes", but it's not such a big thing. Whether Tyrae/eal becomes evil or not isn't going to be decided how the "ea" should be arranged.

No it doesn't, I don't think. I have the speech files, and they are only named Tyr_greetings or Tyr_act2_intro. The artist's name I'm pretty sure I put in myself, and I named it Tyrael. You must have done the same thing, but accidentally misspelled it? Or did I fix up their mistake myself?
Hmm I think that the comet is linked to it definately.
I don't think that Tristam is really pivotal, so much as that is where you go to find Deckard and drag his now ancient bones out of that mess he is in.
As for Leoric, it is entirely possible that he is simply restless, or that he has been distrubed by something evil.
With the very heavy presence of the cultist early on and throughout what I have read about the game, I am going to go with them having something to do with Diablo's return.
BTW, I am really excited about the fact that they are allowing us to see the world before the corruption this time around as opposed to following behind the corruption as was the case in the 1st 2.

There you will find the gate to Hell opened before you. You must find the courage to step through that gate Marius. Take the stone you hold to the Hellforge, where it will be destroyed. Now run! Take the stone and run!"
well there is a difference between use of relegious icons and actually saying the game is relegiously based.
There are many books that use terms such as archbishop that have no semblance of christainity in them.

I agree with you there.

But as you see, Tristram seems to be the main focus in all of the story we know so far, so we have to kind of try to base our gusses on Tristram.
I actually have to disagree with you. I think Tristam is going to be fairly insignificant game wise. It will largely be filler and an intro area.
It had some story basis in D2, but I think even more so then the last game, the main purpose of Tristam will be to introduce Cain and be an introductory area of the game.
Course, that could be entirely wrong, if it is not in fact the beginning area of the game.
I believe that the corruption is going to be on a much grander scale this time around then it was in previous games.
I feel there will be a throw back of sorts to diablo and company going after the seat of power.
There appears to be a definite similarity between the goings on in Caldeum with the death of the emperor and the madness of Leoric in D1.
I would say that the story will revolve heavily around Caldeum, except:
There are a lot of new locations they show on the world map on the diablo website, and I really can't see them using all of them in a 4 act game... unless, they are changing the formula somewhat in that acts are not limited to a single area.
Such as:
Act 1 could hypothetically involve: Tristam, Westmarch, Duncraig, Kingsport, and Bramwell.
Act 2 would involve: Entsteig, Bastion Keep, Arreat Crater, and the dread lands.
Act 3: Lut Gholien, Gea Kull, Kurast, Caldeum, and Ureh
Act 4: Tul Dura and the dry steppes and maybe the burning hells.
I don't know specifically. There are a lot of things they are talking about which I am trying to figure out how they will implement. The manner of implementing things getting darker after being somewhere will be interesting to see. Changing locations within an act would be an easy way to do this.
Just as going from Tristam after finding cain up to explore Arreat Crater would make sense:
Btw, anyone else think the smoking darkness in the vid is arreat crater?

Caldeum might be, but they've already said we won't be visiting it ingame. Maybe a cinematic? Background info?
When/where did they say Caldeum isn't going to be in-game? I thought they only said that for Skovos?

If that leader would be just about anyone, don't you think they'd have changed their name?
"The Triune" is like the Catholic Church. Their leader changes all the time, but the name of their order doesn't. The leader of the Triune is called the Primus, and any powerful demon can take that role. In The Sin War trilogy, it began with Lucion, then he died and Lilith took over (while disguised as Lucion), then Astrogha took over (also while disguised as Lucion). But they only diguised themselves so they could easily control the Triune without them panicking that their previous leader died.
He wants to know why Hell hasn't invaded yet. They've said this in countless interviews.
That's not info, that's speculation.

Speculation. But I tend to agree. Like turtles that can live for a few centuries time and take it slowly, I would assume such powerful and immortal beings as the three would take their sweet time if it was just their doing.
Hmph. Always been just a lackey. I guess the reason he couldn't "rest in peace" is because the warrior who put his soul to rest got corrupted. If that is true, however, we may expect Lach'Danan to return as well.
Although.. he might have some of Diablo in him still, after that unsuccesfull attempt at occupying his soul. Darn, actually, Diablo might have used him all along.. and it wasn't an unsuccesful attempt at all... Hmm *ponders* That would make a great story..
Well all we've got to work with are speculations. If we only had what we knew fro 100% then we would have nothing on the list.
Diablo 3 will definitely rock....be it in terms of gameplay or storyline... Blizzard and the fans have waited out for almost 8+ years for this... I dont think they will ruin it at any point of time...

Are you talking about the cross or the religious pictures in the background?
