I do believe Manteia's point is correct. There are many things that society limits due to their own personal prejudice, Basically, when enough people get together who have a strong opinion about something, they tend to start causing problems for the rest of us. Another thing: the ESRB actually has no power to deny you the right to buy any particular game you like, and the government is not restricting it either. The one's resctricting it are the retailers, who wont take the bad publicity of being "that horrible store" who lets kids buy mature rated video games.
What are you discussing then? Are you trying to debate whether adults should be banned? Or by asking that question are you just trying to say that you think it is foolish for adults to ask for all kids to be banned?
The discussion with Manteia was about kids being banned, I figured it would be hard to turn adults being banned into a real debate, so i worked with it.
While a kid only society could exist, it wouldn't be wise for Blizzard to ban kids nor adults. It would greatly decrease their profits and would cut them off from reaching multiple demographics. Also, what age would you say adults are? I'd say college kids make up a fair amount of game players because of the spare time that we do have after class.
I guess what I am saying is, adults need to be more understanding of other people who wish to play the game. They may not realize it, but often times they act more immature than these so called kids. Maturity level does not always react positively with age level, sometimes there is a negative correlation. There can be a 14 year old who is more mature than a 34 year old, and vise versa.
Retribution, you are speaking for a select few. You are smart, I'll give you that, but do you honestly believe everyone at your age group will act the same way as you?
You said back to the topic. Ok, now as a 14 yr old kid, how do you plan to keep us out off Diablo3 coz really, I love to hear them.

Do you think blizzard cares who is trying to get you off of D3? If we give them more money, but less without you, why wouldn't they? [I know they won't obviously hahah]
Actually, children cannot do anything legally like that unless their legal guardian represents them in a United States court. Children do not hold any legal rights under the US Constitution and therefore unless your legal guardian represents your wishes in a case, you cannot do anything and you will be ignored.
It's a sad truth (to a degree) but that's why it's an Adult's world and not a Child's. You'll get your chance once you turn 18.
for the record, I dont care who gets to play the game. You could be an infant and play the game for all I care. It's your decision not mine and your money as well. I can deal with assholes in a game and assholes know no age group
Retribution;277327']What makes you think you're so specially entitled to enjoying the game anymore then us? Maybe we should petition to ban adults from playing. It's about as possible and legal as banning children from playing the game. Since they cannot restrict a group of people based on Sex/Race/Age. The system where they ask for age or credit card is flawed because it is indirectly related to age., anyway of direct restriction would probably cause some problems.
Don't you hate it when an adult comes in, and just because they see some flaw in your gaming style they go "ZOMG LOOK FUCKING KID GET OFF MY GAME/INTERNET, FUCKING NOOB FUCKER GET OFF!"? It get's annoying. Although i find it easy to simply switch games to Private, adults seemingly cannot do this and as a result; incessantly make threads asking Blizzard to ban children from Battle.net.
Don't go throwing your ESRB rating of "M" at us, you know that has no real value. It's just information that parents and children and adults alike can take into consideration.
So, yay or neigh.
If you think I'm 100% serious in this thread, it's just a spoof on the floodings of threads on banning children from D3 i have been seeing.
I just threw in a moderately thought out argument that is more likely then not, full of holes that will probably get me flamed.
Haha. Wow.
Like that would ever happen.
Diablo is an M rated Franchise.. D3 will most likely follow.

Agreed.
You are exactly right.

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
Retribution;277683'']A negative correlation? I don't see that very often, it's probably more resultant from mental problems...
he is using the term incorrectly. He is probably trying to say, as the old proverb does: "Age often comes with Wisdom, but Wisdom does not always come with age"
There is no correlation, unless he is somehow equating being oldishly feeble to being immature.
M is the rating... so pretty much anyone under -1617 shouldn't play.. but that is your parents decision. If you have any issues with that, please contact the people that rate the game.

back on topic folks.
My mediocre attempt at making a Signature.
You simply can't compare banning people from heroin to banning kids from games. It only works if you say you want to ban people from games.

Which one?
EDIT: And I really, really hope you aren't citing false analogy--as you'd be wrong.
