I would like to see respecs, but in a very limited form. In such a way as to be useable for fixing mistakes, or maybe a full refit on rare occasion. Hi cost or time delays for major overhauls.
Full respecing on the fly like Guild Wars? No, no way.
But I would like to see a way to (at least) fix mistakes.
Agreed. Respecing should have high costs, but accessible to be used one or two times.
No no no and no. I like the fact you can jack up a character and have to restart it adds a lot to the replay of the game. Go ahead wow fans flame on.
This has nothing to do with WoW.
Replay to the game? what about 5 different classes? different maps and quests?
Playing the same class over again slightly different is just not fun, it's a grind, and it does not add to replayability. It's like saying you can play diablo with your left hand only, then play diablo 2 with your right hand only, and it makes it such good replayability!
Respec allows you to go oh I fucked up let me fix that. CLICK ok all good now.
What the hell is wrong with that?
Anyone who's against re-speccing: Realize that it will still take a long time to get proper equipment for their changed builds before it will become effective. Respeccing simply lets a person try out what strategies they like, and how certain builds work... because theory can teach only so much, and especially when a game is freshly released, there is very little info, and people need to experiment.
Diablo is all about playing it over and over again to acomplish the ultimate build.
The majority of Diablo buyers will not play it over and over again. They'll go to websites and read on the cookie cutter build. I don't see how it is any better than respecing.

Respec is too easy. Lets "waste" some time starting all over again
Respec is a choice. Leave that choice to the players.
No Respec plz NO! Diablo is all about planning, and if you fuck up, well you learn to never do that again. Diablo is all about playing it over and over again to acomplish the ultimate build. Respec is too easy. Lets "waste" some time starting all over again
Exactly! also how is respec having nothing to do with wow? Wow is the only blizz game that you can respec in granted the only one that would even have a option but still.
i'd rather have it to be possible to undo the last point you added (could save you from clicking the wrong icon). But the lack of respecs made us play Diablo 2 again and again to try more specs and different things. Having a respec option would make us only create one character/class which would very much ruin it.
I did. You discredited yourself in your own post but still posted it so I am discrediting you again. It is stupid to compare anything to WoW because Blizzard makes very few games, and Diablo II is 10 years old. If you agree with that, why post it?
I'm kinda in between now. I think single player respeccing should be allowed for cost of gold, and not allowed online/very very expensive online.
But there's no choice for that on poll =/

Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
Just because it's the only blizzard RPG made in the last 8 years doesn't mean it's the only RPG, or the only game which allows re-speccing. Point-based systems which don't allow respecs are mostly a thing of the past nowadays. People just didn't think of it back then.
If diablo 3 is not goign to be point based, then fine, don't have respecs, but that's not going to happen I wouldn't think.

Did you read the post to which I was replying lol? Someone said how is respec wowish? Now answer me how is it not?
I also realize more games use respecs but for one Diablo isn't those other games and 2 those other games are not made by Blizzard

How can I answer you? I don't play WoW. I am a Diablo I fan. I play Diablo II with PlugY mod, which allows respecing in single player. I don't abuse it. But I want to have that choice.
There are games other than WoW that have respecing, therefore, respecing is not WoWish.

Replied to every part of it. If you can't read, I can't help you.

Diablo is too old of a game to decide whether or not did it have or didn't have respects due to being Diablo or due to simply being OLD. And you edited this into your post, how could I have seen it?
Stop being an asshole, and write something that's worth replying to.
I have several times. I stated my opinion on respeccing and you went into this wild tangent. I also did not edit my post in quick edit. However you have your opinion I have mine. A respec option allows you to just rebuild your character non stop. Even if they put in a limit to how many times you could do it I feel it ruins the atmosphere of the game. If I'm a Sorc that learned Blizzard saying oh hey I forgot how to do that spell and now I can do fireball makes it feel sort of lame.

It's a choice. You don't have to respec. You don't have to play HC. Just let people who do want to use it have that option. Not everyone likes to replay the game 300 times because apparently, skills in D2 are so imbalanced that 50% of them are absolutely useless. If they balance the skill I don't need respecing but if they don't, which they probably wouldn't, I don't want to replay the same exact thing 300 times.
