I'm really not sure what happened since the release of 1.03, but there have been a lot of things that have made D3 enjoyable again:
-The game runs smoother for me now for some reason (I need a new CPU)
-With my DH, I was able to find good enough 1-hand cross bows to increase his damage by like 400 and increase life by around 1000 in only a couple hours of play time.
-Rare drop rates are huge for me right now. (Act 1 Nightmare)
So yea, not too sure what happened, but things are looking up as of yesterday. Maybe so many people dropped off the US network that it made things more playable for me...either way I'm good to go for now. I guess I didn't have high enough gear to actually take a hit on the bad things that came from 1.03.
Yea same here my man, it is a lot more fun now the only problem I have is I have a lot more lag spikes then I used to even though my overall performance is up. in fact the spikes are so bad that my ping bar does not even go orange or red it does not have time to notice I simply go to not being able to do anything and after 1-2 minutes catch up with multiple rubber banding effects, twice I came back to real time to see myself dead.
Other then that I seem to be doing just fine, in Act 1/Act 2 inferno (not grinding yet)
After a couple days of the non-playable lag, I said screw it, dropped lettings down but kept the max resolution. Yea it took a little hit in the visuals, but actually not THAT much, besides, I'm not playing Diablo because it's "pretty".
I'm at level 37 with my DH now and am using Bola with the Multi-Poison shot Rune, not sure what it's called.
It's always nice to hear something positive about 1.0.3. Personally i agree, I think it's shaping up to be pretty good. Hopefully after a few weeks we will see a shift in the economy and AH prices will come down. This may not be good for sellers, but remember MORE loot is dropping so there will be a chance to sell MORE. not just a 50million weapon once in a blue moon.
I actually bought something from the Gold AH last night, a one-hand crossbow that helped be get up to my 950dps, along with a rare quiver that adds to attack speed and hatred regen...each slotted.
Same here. I'n progressing in Act 2, not getting one shot constantly, and finding interesting sstuff at a fast enough rate to keep it interesting. Inferno is officailly fun now. =)

I did notice the repair costs were upped.
