I think the weapons showing DPS (like Wow) would be very helpful. I remember D2 only told you the attack speed of the weapons as "Fast Attack Speed, Normal Attack Speed, ect"
I have nothing wrong with (infact i kinda like the speed) this, as long as they keep the overall feel (damage, statistics, and effects) of it, like diablo 2
They prolly put the speed in their so people would know the max attack rate of their weapon. So people who are using a 3.6 attack speed ('slow' in D2) would know roughly how often they have to click, which is every 3.6 seconds. Maybe they did this to cut down on the 'mouse breaker' factor which they were quoted as saying D3 isn't one as much as D2 was.

Why click if you can just click once and hold...
I kinda like the current system but I really don't like the fact that they do not take in the added damage, as in + 1-24 cold damage and stuff like that. The damage-per-second is going to be pretty pointless for enchanted weapons...
I'd prefer the current system. Leave WoW out of Diablo III Blizzard!
I don't think that showing weapon DPS is really putting aspects of WoW into D3, its just how RPG's have evolved since D2 was released. Players now want more information than they have before so they can min/max.
I am curious how this will work with other items that add to damage such as skills, items, etc will this update that screen or will there still be a character screen that adds it all up like D2.
I like the the attack speed and damage per second it gives a quick frame of reference on items you find in the game, it may do more damage but is slower and therefore may not be as useful as a weapon doing less damage but can swing faster.
dps indication is a very good way to know with which weapon you actually do most damage. Seeing a very slow weapon show a very nasty damage while you can have a higher damage output with a weaker (as in damage per hit) weapon that has faster attack speed is really helpful.
I'd really like people use their brains for once and embrace things that are going to improve the overall gameplay.
X Damage Per Second
Attacks Per Second: X
Damage X - X
Additional Stats (+DMG, Etc.)
Now, this is a lot different then what we're used to, but is it a positive direction we're moving here? I'm just curious how everyone else feels.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
