ello! Im new to the forum here but I wanted to share my Fire bats build and sew if any of you had advice or suggestions.
Just started playing D3 again so hopefully I can get some good advice.
Actually keeping up Vampire Bats with PtV, unless you have sick mana regen on gear (and i don't see why you should have it), it's not really easy. You can't simply stand and channel VB, even if you have 10 fetishes... if you put those 325 mana (250+30%) for Piranhas on top, i'd say you are going to be OOM very frequently.
I don't understand what is wrong to sticking to Gruesome Feast and Grave Injustice. Is a baseline 800+ int per healing globe (40k dps?) and the best CD reduction passive in the game wrong in your book?
If you're not going to use Fetish Sycophants, much better sticking to Projax-like builds, with Spirit Barrage and a big spender like bears or cloud.
With 0 channeling cost why can't you keep up vamp bats? While your channeling you should be regen mana even with a small amount on gear.
all about dmg reduction and grouping enemies up to aoe down with bats and get my fetish army. I don't have the best gear around 400k dps with 5ish mil toughness and I farm t3 pretty easily.
Keeping up Vampire Bats with PtV is ridiculously easy if you are playing at the appropiate level, if you don't have enough toughness to stand still and take a few hits (which I rarely do because of fetishes + Spirit Walk anyway) you're not meant to be using a VB spec.
Left Click:Firebats/Vampire Bats: Main damage dealer and fetish generator, speaks for itself Right Click:BBV/Slam Dance: DPS Cooldown for the entire party, up for mostly every elite due to Grave Injustice, depends how close they're stacked together and how many white mobs you get though. Great in rifts imo.
Skill 1:Spirit Walk/Jaunt or Spirit Walk/Healing Journey: I like both runes and switch them up based on difficulty, on higher difficulty levels (T3 or T4) I generally take Healing Journey and lower Jaunt. Skill 2:Soul Harvest/Vengeful Spirit or Soul Harvest/Siphon or Soul Harvest/Souls to Waste: I like all runes, I don't usually roll with Souls to Waste but a lot of people prefer the higher duration on it but I use it rather frequently anyway because of damage or healing. Skill 3:Piranhas/Piranhado: Great crowd control, off cooldown almost constantly and a damage boost for everyone in the party.
The last skill slot is really up to you, my choices include
Mass Confusion/Mass Hysteria: Use it mostly because of my Haunt of Vaxo which summons clones when I stun, it's good control and fun to make elites smash themselves to bit.
Hex/Angry Chicken: Offers movement and insane damage, I can one-shot whites with this on T3 (only have 18% increased physical damage). Off cooldown alot because of Grave Injustice. Not 100% but it can be used very very often.
Grasp of the Dead/Death is Life: I have The Grin Reaper and they cast this spell causing lots of health globes to drop to get Gruesome Feast stacks, also offers control.
Passive 1:Pierce the Veil: Great damage boost as we barely use mana at all/ Passive 2:Grave Injustice: Regenerate life, mana and lower your cooldowns. Pretty much required to make the build function well, especially for Piranhado. Passive 3:Gruesome Feast: I use it mostly for the intelligence bonus, I can maintain a few stacks quite decently. Also nice if you do run out of resource that health globes can give it back. Passive 4:Fetish Sycophants: Deal great damage for no effort at all, really strong and help keep mobs off of you.
knockback / nightmare are my only real issues. I have a ton of resist/life on hit. frozen i use spirit walk and arcane try to position myself. I use a bears build as well. However, with the above build I let my army tank and I stand back and DPS. Rarely have a problem. Like I said before I can farm T3 without much of a problem. My gear needs to be upgraded.
I love vampire bats + piranhado. I don't use spirit walk or mass confusion though. Instead I take run similar to the fire doctor build that is on this site with the gargantuan/wrathful protector (huge damage for elite packs) and some no cost fire based skill for times when I have to kite. I think stack +% fire damage gear.
Passive wise I would always run fetish syncopath with a vampire bats build. I also like grave injustice better than tribal rites (they both accomplish roughly the same thing). When running the normal minions I can keep piranhado up pretty close to 100% of the time using it.

Thank you both for the great feed back!! I was thinking of doing bears or firebombs.
I use a similar build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#hcYUlT!VaSX!aZbZbY
