dungeons, but with maybe a bit more of a World of Warcraft exterior experience"
Rofl it would be hilarious if only the witch doctor could open the secret "chicken" level and when you transmuted the ingredients or w/e it calls for the witch doctor would verbally say "Arise chicken arise". Taking you to the secret level but call it "Portal to billywitchdoctor.com" where you will pick up a chicken farmer mercenary to help you fight uber chickens. When you kill all the chickens in the level if you have the merc you picked up upon entering he says "Dont we get anything harder than that?" and the witchdoctor says "You mean ultra mega chicken? NO shhhhhhhhh he is legend!" he spawns and squashes the merc with his feet XD.
Sorry that was way off topic but i couldnt resist

It's a source of great contention and with little in-character relation.
*Sigh* The name Witch Doctor is there to create a link between our knowledge and the character in game.
If they used the name 'Witch' then it would be an old lady with warts and toads.
If they used the name 'Shaman' that wouldnt make sense since Shamanism involves healing and purification.
A Witch Doctor, however, is a western name for Tribal Medicine men who are also known for the communication with spirits. The African Witch Doctor is actually called a Sangomas, and if the character in Diablo 3 was called a Sangomas then noone would probably know what it meant.
Whilst nobody would know what Sangomas means or is. There is also a possibility that people wouldn't know what a Witch Doctor is. So Sangomas would work quite well. Plus some people were distressing because Witch Doctor isn't Diabloey-(Hope you understand what this means) enough but Sangomas sounds a lot more Diabloey. Of course the name isn't that important but it adds to the character development.

Theres the thing, a person might not know what a Witch Doctor is, but look at that freaky looking character there raising the dead and look at the name and you can probably take a good guess.

So does anyone else find it kind of odd you can enchant mongrels with fire and locusts only? (so far)
Fire and locusts both seem to be damage enchantments, so I wonder if their will be a defensive one or something. Maybe fire is direct damage and locusts are damage over time? Then again the fire seemed to be damage over time also. Hmmm...
i guess they do the same types of damage so you dont have to pick which one you want to master based on what they do to mongrels. I doubt there will be anything other than offensive, but i bet it will be altered so there's one for DoT, one for direct, one for AoE and one for...Idunno. Chain? like, faster and less conditional than locust swarm?
Diablo III needs werewolf form!! Werewolf druids are the greatesterestest! Werewolves that shred and eat enemies even!! Rawr! (f'.')f

They are weird looking, wanna see a concept art drawing of one.
The video says "the first of these pets are the mongrel" wonder what the other ones are. Hope you can summon some kinda large grotesque monster. XD

Well they said mongrel is the all around pet didn't they? Or something like that, so I'd assume a more dps oriented pet, maybe a more defense/health pet, and a caster pet, possibly some others like support ones.
