So I finally made a crusader for season 2. I know there are a plethora of builds out there, and I don't know where to go.
I want to do a condemn build, But I am not sure how it stands out to the others.
I got lucky on my first two 500 blood shard spending sprees and got the relentless phalnax shield, and the shield needed for the Shield throwing build.
So out of all the builds that are being used in season two, what are the pros and cons of all the builds?
Pro - I enjoy the playstyle. Not too spammy. You constantly spam condemn. You have to hit AC every 20 sec. The rest is reactional only.
Con - Slow on RG
2. Pony
Pro - Safer due to persistent knockback
Con - Slightly more spammy as you will need to generate wrath on cd for usually 2 abilities, e.g. provoke and Law on top of AC and ponies. Most sensitive to positioning
3. Bowmen - not sure the build you are referring to. The only bowmen build I can recall is using Roland's for attack speed. If that's the one, then Roland's is currently much squishier.
4. Cap
Pro - easier to gear, maybe you enjoy the playstyle
Con - Not very viable past T6/RG25
5. Support/zDPS
Pro - capable of the highest grifts. Much of the gear is crafted
Con - have to be in a group. Highest learning curve
1. condemn - best of the best of the best sir. pros = massive dmg, fun play style, most importantly is CAN CAST WHILE MOVING. cons = hard to get good bop and shield. single target damage blows
2. stampede - meh. pros = alright dmg, alright single target dmg. easier to gear for (any ancient 2 hander works. furnace/heart slaughter are just more dmg). much safer. cons = boring, annoying as hell in groups, placement matters way too much because EVERYTHING blocks ponys.
3? 2-b? bowmen phalanx = for SPEED rifting (achievements)
4. shield throw - trash. pros = none. cons = low dmg, hard to gear for, spammy as hell, cant cast while moving, annoys everyone including yourself.
5. zdps - necessary in group high gr
6. holy shotgun (why is it called shotgun when there are 3 bursts?). pros = safe and consistent dmg, cons = hard to gear for (fotf is not a common drop). dmg low in comparison to condemn/phalanx
7. hammer or foth - use these before you get perma akkhan
I will give my 2 cents here cause there is a lot of confusion condemn purely is the strongest aoe build but also later on is the strongest single target build due to its ability against rgs who spawn adds which is all you will really be fighting against besides stonesinger. All other specs in my opinion are for your enjoyment only but will not give very good results in grs. Condemn gains it strength especially when you learn to press the ability as close to when its come off cd with good latency you can hit it every .5-.7 secs you do not spam this ability you press on intervals to maximize its damage.
Knowing the best builds endgame is all well and good, but what is just a good overall build until you reach that point? I have a mix of legendaries and rares and can do t1 but its slow as hell and not sure what kind of build I should be using to progress because none of my gear is worth rerolling or optimal. I don't really want to do lower difficulties because I'll be missing potential set pieces

Substitute iron skin flash for steed charge for t6
Captain America might work with the focus/restraint changes.
This is the gearing build I used when I did not have build defining gear on my last 3 crusaders.
