I am planning on purchasing a new desktop as I only have a laptop that has no chance of playing Diablo 3 when it comes out. So far it will have the intel i3 2120 clocked at 3.30 Ghz with 3Mb cache with 8gb ram and a radeon hd 6670 graphics card. I have the possibility of upgrading to a radeon hd 6850 but it will cost an extra $60 dollars and this build is already stretching the budget. Do you think the build I have now will run Diablo 3 fairly well? I don't need to run it absolutely maxed out yet. I plan on upgrading this computer over the next year as I get the money but for now this is about the most I can afford without waiting another month or so to purchase the computer.
Also are you building this computer and what is your budget?
I am using Walmart.com since I work at Walmart and have a 10% discount. I am using the ibuypower customized build at http://www.walmart.c...d-more/15374646
My budget is max $900 with everything including monitor and with that current setup after taxes and my discount I am right around $832 and I will be able to buy it tomorrow with the max budget I will probably have to wait a couple more weeks since my friend is going to loan me my remaining amount tomorrow for the current amount.

Do you know how to build your own computer? Even with the discount, its far cheaper to do so.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
Go with AMD processor over Intel, with Intel you're just paying for the brand. You can get a way better processor than the i3 for cheaper, I always go with AMD, right now I'm running the Phenom x4 965, and have a GTX 460 graphics, and can play anything on ultra, and only spent ~$800 on mine.
I built my comp from scratch last year, bought everything off www.newegg.com, its the way to go, you can check consumer ratings and compare parts really easily, also they have a huge selection.
Plus if you find what you want as part of package deals it can save you money, I bought all the parts for my computer in like 4 package deals and saved like $100 off the cost, also if there's a Costco near you you should check out their monitors, its where I bought mine, and where a lot of my friends got theirs, they have really good prices on monitors and tvs for some reason.

This price includes everything with the computer also including monitor and operating system... buying mostly similar parts online ran me almost always at least an extra $100

Intel's new line of processors is pretty boss, but yea AMD would be cheaper if you are building your own computer because you would ave money on the motherboard. It also depends if you are planning to overclock and go down the rabbit hole lol
Hahaha Sexton we have the same background, well actually mine switches between all the good Diablo 3 desktops, but that one's my favorite one currently
Ah but all of this is for a later date for now since there are only 3 processors available for my current build options. For me to put anything but the i3 2120 i5 2400 i5 2500k or the i7 2600k in is completely buying the build from a different site and more money

Oh dear, 4GB is more than enough for gaming, and he already has 8GB, and you're telling him to buy more?
Don't be silly, Intel CPUs smash AMD to bits right now. AMD is only really an option if you're on an extremely tight budget.
Intel i3: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819115077
3.3 ghz Dual Core
AMD: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103924
3.6 ghz Quad Core - for $12 more
I mean.... AMD's looking pretty good.
Oh yeah, you better go out and buy 16GB from PC World right away, because gaming requires so much.
