I have decided to go all out crit for my barbarian, and have picked skills and passives that will benefit from critical strikes.
I will duel wield axes, because that will boost my crit chance, by taking the Weapns Master passive, as well as Ruthless.
My main damage will come from using Battle Rage and Wrath of the Berzerker to boost crit, and then spamming Hammer of the Ancients and Overpower (overpower resetting if a critical hit lands!)
It is a fun damage build based on seeing high yellow numbers.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#dcUWkP!VSa!YbcaZZ
For my starting class I have chose the Witch Doctor. The build shown will be used for pve at a distance hence why I have chosen to part with much of the damage and went the survivability route though this build may take longer to clear a map with I feel it will fair well in the later difficulties.
I wanted most, if not all of my damage to be based around fire. The passives I chose allowed me to pick the skills I wanted to use.
My primary is spammable, while my secondary is meant for CC in case I need to run for any reason.
My hotkeys have a DoT, a passive AoE, pets to tank, and finally a buff/mana gain skill.
This looks like it could be a fun build, focusing mainly on dps. Although running into fire immune mobs would certainly be a problem (CC and run away!).
I've never built a character designed to maximize targeted damage so this is what I was thinking about trying. I want to be able to deliver the most damage to a single target I can, with some area skills thrown in just in case I get surrounded. I'm not surte how viable the build is long term, but I'm excited to give it a shot.
The basics of this build involve having Frenzy with the rune that causes axes to fly out randomly. This gives the dual wielder AOE with the basic attack.
Whirlwind is the primary rage dump with critical strikes restoring life rune. Whirlwind with a Barb has always been scary, especially with no shield. This should help a dual wield barb survive better.
Threatening Shout is the defensive skill of choice. An AOE shout that reduces damage by enemies by 25% is very great in all situations. The rune to possibly get extra drops has been added if you are a treasure finder. This could easily be switched with another rune depending on play style.
Leap Attack has been added for extra rage generation and movement. Being able to get out of a sticky situation is valuable in any mode of gameplay. The rune for a possible stun has been added to make your odds of surviving even better. This is also a great opener in battle.
Overpower has been added with the rune that restores life with each enemy it hits. 7% life from each enemy with massive damage and a chance to reset the cooldown if it is a critical hit? I think that's quite overpowered and great!
Wrath of the Berserker is the best choice for this build, with increased damage rune, because it will increase crit, important for overpower, and other key factors like attack speed and movement speed. This gives you even more control over the battlefield.
The three passives are the most obvious choices. Increased crit chance and damage, increased damage with weapons and life leech. This keeps your damage high and the leech rolling in while you whirlwind and frenzy your enemies to death!
I think this is a great build for a dual wielding Barbarian because it gives plenty of AoE possibilities with many ways to restore your life while in combat.
This build balances out the survival and damage output of a monk for progression between the normal and the inferno mode, for solo gameplay, that is focused on handling packs of mobs efficiently while managing to survive.
Good luck to anyone who would want to use it for their gameplay, hope it helps
Fists of Thunder/ Lightning Flash basically ensures that I'll always have an additional +16% dodge while building Spirit
Tempest Rush/ Bluster functions as both an escape and a damage reduction.
Serenity/ Ascension is the traditional "oh crap!" button for when things get really hairy.
Mantra of Evasion/ Hard Target seems like the best choice for tanking.
Crippling Wave/ Concussion combo should reduce incoming damage by knocking back and reducing the damage of incoming enemies
Mystic Ally/ Earth Ally will be the summon of choice to raise HP and at the same time provide a distraction.
Passive Skills Guardian's Path and Sixth Sense increase dodge, while One with Everything will theoretically make it easier to maximize elemental resistance.
This is my treasure finding Barbarian - muahahahaha! As a disclaimer, I should say I'm not sure how viable this build would be for hardcore, so I've planned with the assumption of playing non-hardcore PvM. http://us.battle.net...YSeg!ZYc!acabab
I really do love the synergy in the treasure finding skills listed in this build I created. My thought would be that this build would serve you well as a solo/mf character, albeit less so for end-game play since I sacrificed a lot of dmg mitigation abilities for the ones here that give you bonuses to finding treasure. This build focuses around having a high crit rating, since a lot of your crits will proc the treasure finding ability. This also doubles to give you some ability to solo content, as mentioned earlier.
I have created this build in a thinking way of Crowd Control in PvP. Runes are chosen as either to provide more CC to enemy players or give them a little damage boost. Make enemies stop, let your friends crush them.
built for maximum call of the ancients uptime, defensive and offensive buff, and mainly building damage bonus stacks through runed frenzy stacks and than whirlwinding the fury away
PvE tanky/AoE damage barbarian, leap for mobility, with bonus armor to keep me alive when I grab mobs. This build is more centered around tanking large amounts of mobs, and chopping them down fast. With AoE damage, tons of healing, damage mitigation passives, and an AoE slow to peel for your squishies. You're basically always using hammer of the Ancients since it's your only fury-based attack, and you'll be able to use it once every 2 bashes wih the increased fury generation. I'd sub out Revenge or Overpower if I was having problems keeping squshies safe for an AoE stun like Ground Stomp. Or perhaps sub one of them out for Grappling Hooks Ancient Spear to grab the mobs off them.
Would love to hook a beta key to test it out! I went with this build on my wizzard for when I play alone or just feel like solo grinding and leveling. I loved playing a Sorceress in D2. It was my favorite class and I play a mage in WoW now. I cant wait to try out the Wizzard in D3!! Cant wait to see you all in the D3 world
I thought it would be good to start with ranged skills and some AOE damage as well, since casters are kinda weak in the beginning. Later in the game, the slow time bubble to give me some space to kite'n grind stuff while I keep going trough the game's content. With some help from the npcs that are going to follow me during the game, I think that the 'Familiar' skill will work good as another distraction, giving me time to kill everything.
And the passive skills, I decided to keep the survivability closer. Just for urgencies, in case I need to rush to avoid a killing blow.
The main idea behind this build is to be used in the Hardcore mode as it is built with ranged attacks with the added benefit of armor, resistances, and healing bonuses.
I've made a barbarian spec with one philosophy: the best defense is a good offense. Focusing purely on damage and AoE skills, this spec will wreak havoc in the field. Defensive skills? This barbarian laughs in the face of danger. Let me hit them even harder with my axe instead!
Here's my build for a high damage, low cooldown barb:
I picked all the highest level abilities, and spec'd them for extra damage wherever possible. The next most important aspect was to lower cooldown durations. Hope you like!
This is my farming witch doctor build. It is designed to do massive amounts of AoE with some survivability from the gargantuan and the grasp the dead (with rune for extra slow power). Further survivability comes from the passive skills grave injustice and jungle fortitude.

The main idea behind this build is to be used in the Hardcore mode as it is built with ranged attacks with the added benefit of armor, resistances, and healing bonuses.
Primary: Deadly Reach (With Keen Eye Rune Skill)
Long reach attacks and at the end of the third attack, armor bonuses are gained
Secondary: Lashing Tail Kick (With Spinning Flame Kick Rune Skill)
Long range flame kick that shoots out a tornado in a single direction.
Defensive: Serenity (With Ascension Rune Skill)
Invulnerable to all attacks for so many seconds
Conviction: Mantra of Healing (With Time of Need Rune Skill)
Healing Over time with increased resistances
Techniques: Crippling Wave (With Tsunami Rune Skill)
Attacks a number of enemies in front of character, additionally slowing the attack and movement speed of enemies
Focus: Seven-guided Stike (with Fulminating Onslaught)
A hard hitting attack with increased damage from rune skill
Passives:
Pacificism: When stunned, charmed, or feared, all damage is reduced by 75%
Seize the initiative: Armor is increased by 100% of my dexterity.
One with everything: your resistances are equal to highest elemental resistance
