I haven't found anything in the forums yet and I have used the search function. I have a xps 17 and can run most games in 3D. My question is does anyone know if I can run Diablo 3 in 3D or if it's impossible in general.
Am i the only one that finds 3D unnecessary in games/movies? you cant even go to the movies these days without being forced to watch the movie in 3d, which usually makes the picture quality lower.

I agree that 3D isn't necessary but it's a nice feature. I wouldn't play the whole game in 3D but I would like to see some parts in 3D.
3D technology is so over-rated these days. Imo u can convert and play 3D every game but there is no use if the game isn't specially designed to be enjoyable in that method.
I know that you can covert every game but nvidia has a list of featured games which have very good 3D and my question was if diablo 3 is on of these games.
I have actually seen the D3 beta being played with the nVidia 3d vision. It worked very well. So well infact, that I think Blizzard may have put some effort in to it.
It worked better than some games that were suppose to officially support 3D....if you've tried Sonic Generations, the clipping is terrbible in that, and things are always coming too close to the camera.
You have to remember that Blizzard have put 3d support in to WoW, and it is probably the best game to play in 3D IMHO.

Yes you are right WoW is one of the best games in 3D and that's why I hope Blizzard will import this feature in diablo 3. I have also tried some other games in 3D weren't suppose to officially support 3D and it's pretty good. But I had a problem with fallout 3 ,which is a supported 3D game, it hade some glitches n 3D and I couldn't play it anymore at one poit in the story. This is one of the things where the Blizzard guys have to paid attention that they don't have any glitches.
I really hope they wont implement the 3D-feature on release.. That technology is still hard to code and even harder to get fully functional(Im fine with it though if they have already implemented it and tested it, but if 3D feature stands against the release, I'd drop it..)
Yes you are right I would rather see the release than the 3D-feature at the release.
The 3D Vision Controller (USB) driver is included in this driver package. Users are no longer required to install the 3D Vision CD driver or a separate 3D Vision Controller driver. For more information, please view this knowledgebase article.
Unfortunately the rating of Diablo III is just good as apparently some objects render at wrong depth or incorrectly and DOTA 2 is even worse with a Not Recommended rating and these will be two very popular and widely played games, but you should apparently forget about playing them in stereo 3D mode with 3D Vision for now.
I've played it in 3D, and I can honestly say that it's one of the most enjoyable 3D games ever. Contrary to what people are saying in this thread, the view and style of the game are actually PERFECT for 3D.
Try playing the barbarian and smashing a group of zombies that literally come flying out of your screen. The tree's and buildings and tall pillars look AMAZING in 3D. The detail really pops, and the effect is very strong. I highly recommend it.
So who knows. Maybe the 3D vision has been fixed...

There is 3D in Starcraft 2, so I assume they would have for D3. But don't bet on it.

You'll need a stereo image viewer.

But also keep in mind SC2 also had an ULTRA setting in which Diablo 3 will not have.

So my answer would be: perhaps.
Edit: Interesting quote from http://3dvision-blog...ag/diablo-3-3d/
Edit: Also someone on the battlenet forums has played it in 3D:

Ok thx for the information. So it seems like 3D will be supported.
We will see how the quality is but it seems relistic that 3D will be imported.
