I don't have much affection for the D2 druid but I enjoyed playing one in WoW. Since the lore is much more interesting in Diablo, I'm hoping the two influences could come together for a kick-ass druid.
I was hoping monks would be playable in diablo 3 so yay for that. As for characters i wish were in the game i would say necromancer. The witch doctor is a cheesy version of the necromancer in my eyes (zombie wall? really?). The necromancer was my favorite character in diablo 2 because of his crazy class mechanics, he was the only class really playable from norm to hell while naked hah.
The WD will probably be my favorite character in d3 because he is so similar to the boneman. but hes so cheesy augh

OHO there are people on here who would eat you alive for that statement 0.0 pray they dont see this post
I know they are going to try to make wizard have melee abilities, but I think for expan we will see a character who can truly cross melee, with spell casting,
Cast a good AOE dot spell, then run in and start smashing stuff!
As for context, maybe some kind of fallen angel? or an Evoker?
I assume people miss the Paladin because he was the longest running, most over powered class?
Not sure why you miss the Necro though, as he pretty much held the record for longest running least usefulness, and broken skills.
And while I played pretty much every class in Diablo II extensively with the exception of the Assassin and the Druid, I don't "miss" any of them. I'm ready for a breath of fresh air, and with the exception of possibly the Witch Doctor (Though I'm sure I'll get around to him eventually), I applaud their class choices, and look forward to playing them.
They kinda have all the bases covered already but.... maybe some sorta enchanter / controller type class that was a duel wield melee class but could mind control enemies and use um as pets and also cast sweet self and group buffs like the old wizard weapon enchant buff from d2.
This is the sequel of Diablo 2, NOT the remake of it!
I'm glad they introduced new characters(classes) and got rid of the old. I know barbarian is still there but well they sort of had to keep one of the classes?!
If you want to play paladin or necromancer or whatever, why not play Diablo 2?
Thing is, it's a new game, with new lore and new fights, and.. well more or less everything is new
But as for using old characters, I can't see a problem with that, as long as the content is new and the classes fit the story/world.
As for thread, I wouldn't mind seeing a follower of Rathma, simply because they're by far the most lore heavy class there is, if you look away from the Vizjerei (wizards). And they could have done a lot of improvements with that class, shame not seeing it's full potential

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep." Robert Frost, 1923
and might I point out that barbarian will play completely differently
he has what, 3? 4? tops skills he had from D2? WW and bash are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head
I didn't like D2 barb, but I think I will have fun with D3 barbarian ^.^
As for what kind of class I would like to see in Diablo III... I really wish I could describe it here. But I would get my teeth kicked in. Or called names.
LOL
Ok, you have to tell us now 0.0
