So I know I've seen it all over the place saying that you should be rolling off weapon damage ideally and get another stat (like AD, CDR) but I'm trying to understand why weapon damage plays no part in the damage equation, or not much. I understand that steed charge: spiked barding has 0 weapon damage modifiers. However, our primary damage source Bombardment: Barrels of Spikes has both:
2850% total weapon damage and the rune increases the damage by 200% of your thorns. Wouldn't you ideally want high weapon damage as well, since that's boosted by 2850% * 200% * thorns? Or am I just totally misunderstanding how the weapon damage modifier works?
