Yea every hit generates 3 rage because of weapons master. So the tornadoes, whirlwind, and the reflected damage generates 3 more rage. I can't start wwing right away I usually reflect some damage to get enough rage to sprint. I use warcry to get berserker rage up and go from there.
Hope to find q goblin while you have WotB up and a pack of angry elites beating on you. Or a couple of demon hunters doing all the killing from behind in your group.
Failing either of these, safely run past, you won't kill the thing.
I hear those molten/desecrator/arcane/plagued mobs that constitute for roughly 90% of elites in this game kinda hurt without overpower.
But sure, goblins are worthwhile.
i have some issues generating fury with this, but overall it is quite funny.
i have ~1400 loh, 40%crit, ~500-600@ and (dont laugh now!) 22k hp.
just bought some stuff for this build and trying it
and im wondering if i should use a mighty weapon instead of an axe and ofc i have to stack some vit for it to really work out
but i dont actually see how this will help a lot since im draining my fury in about 5 sekonds when wwing.. should i use the -furycost rune on ww instead of rltw?
HE gets an additinal 3 rage per hit because of the mighty weapon, you probably have an axe or mace, you just need to learn to learn to let sprint go all the way off before you reuse it and use ww sparingly when mobs are less.
Oh and also - what follower? Enchantress gives 3% speed and ~500 armor but after deafeating Diablo I forgot to re-attach follower and did A3 farm run without any followers and I did not notice much/ any difference in survivability...
I am asking since Scoundrel gives 3% crit which is a better self-dps increase but AFAIK with comparable gear the DPS of the scoundrel is much lower then Enchantress' - my Enchantress is at about 3.8k DPS - scoundrel is completely ungeared and at about 500 dps :>
I don't think however that follower's dps matters much with this build...
They usually die, but enchantress is for the armor
Working on getting a 1h mighty weapon as I don't have one atm.
This. Get one ASAP, it really makes a difference especially if undergeared.
I'm guessing you're hitting the enrage timer on elites if you just suddenly die. What ability did you replace with Bash?
The big issue people have with this build is overusing WW when there aren't enough mobs around or using WW for too long, completely draining your fury. Try sprinting until 100% fury then using WW until 50%. Sprint to 100% WW to 50%. Sprint is the main focus of the build, WW is just the icing on the cake. Hope it helps.
1k LoH, is that enough? Atm im using a 1h with 300 ish dps but big str and vit and a whopping 956 LoH and another with 816 dps and about 650 LoH, so would probably change the low dps weapon and lose out on alot of LoH, but does that matter? Aiming for a 7-800ish MW with 3-400 LoH.
1k is enough for a2, you want to be closer to 2k in a3 and a4.
Don't worry about your offhand dps too much, its mostly a stat stick for this build (despite what the dps in your character sheet might imply).
A couple of tips on buying gear for this build:
1. Buy a neck with 500+ LoH and 6%+ crit. Other stats are irrelevant and anything extra will put the item in the price level of above 10kk. So just type in those two and keep sniping the AH.
2. For the weapons, put max buyout at 4 million gold, type in 500 LoH, 100 Vit and first do a search with socket being the third affix, then with crit damage instead of socket. This will usually show weapons good enough to get through the game without much trouble. Having strength as an extra or DPS above 650 on these weapons is nice but these are going to be costly.
3. Get to 500-600 resistance buffed. You won't need more with superstition and a good LoH value.
4. Stack vit. 50k health is the comfortable level to be doing a3-a4 with.
5. Get a lot of crit. That's 40%+ if not using a mighty weapon.
I noticed your wearing your mighty weapon in the main hand slot, is this important or doesn't it matter ?
Of course it matters. Your Weapon Mastery only takes your mainhand into account, so if you want the extra rage from the mighty weapon to work, mainhand it.
str 879
vit 1016
armor 5316
crit 49%
crit dmg 207%
resists 700
37k hp
21k dps
1.6 loh
Your armor and resistances are fine, get more health (like 15-20k more) and more strength/crit damage, and maybe a tiny bit more LoH.
And for the love of god, disregard the posters who tell you to get life leech with 21k dps.
-goblins are quite hard to kill as my single target damage is a lot lower than before and hitting them with sprint / ww is nearly impossible for me
-any kind of ranged pack can give me huge troubles, especially shielding ones (the only easy ones in a3 being morloks)
-invul. minions with no other mobs nearby is a pain in the ass
These are true. Shielding is a pain in the ass, invulnerable minions, for me at least, are easier but can still hurt because LoH doesn't work on them.
About the goblins, I mentioned it multiple times, unless you happen to find a goblin while an elite pack is beating on you, you just won't get the goblin. The way their AI works, they just don't stand in tornadoes and you won't have enough rage to just whirlwind them down. People say getting bash/frenzy instead of overpower helps, but I just find overpower to be alot more efficient for everything else.
so for the offhand would you really pick a like 550 dps dagger with lets say 600 loh, 150 vit and a socket for some chd?
it just feels so wrong somehow
Well comparing this dagger to another one with 700 dps but no vit and 300 loh, yeah, this one's going to be better. I mean it depends on the stats. The only attack for this build that actually uses offhand dps is every second whirlwind hit. Which is, uh, not a very big margin of your overall damage.
Thing is, spawn rate of the tornadoes from "Run like the wind" is related to your movement speed - the more, the better. Hence why it's important to keep your movement speed as high as possible while whirling.
Besides, other runes are pretty lackluster, dust devils only proc LoH once, blood funnel is extremely bad in general (1% life, which is nerfed to 0.2% on Inferno, per crit), 1 rage per hit is just a joke, so you're left choosing between hurricane and lava flows or w/e it was called.
I'm running bash instead of overpower at the moment, goblins are still a pain in the ass
But thanks for your response, I'm not totally retarded then!
You can also run Frenzy(Maniac). Which is also very good if you just throw in a Frenzy hit before the buff falls on bosses and etc. for 16% dmg increase while whirlwind/sprinting.
Atm running with Battle Rage and Warcry up.
99.3k dps
6400 armor
600-737 resist
5.4% life leech(no loh atm)
51% crit chance
460% crit dmg
using boon of bulkathos passive, but I use slaughter on mine since its literally broken op for killing 4 elite packs in 2 seconds flat.
Been using the same spec and ways since I had 35k dps and 33%ish crit.

T
Enchantress for the armor definitely. Besides, you can get more MF on her than on the scoundrel I believe.
