That movie is so derivative, so predictable, so stale, so unstylish, so unoriginal, it's borders on the absurd. 3D? FUCKING SERIOUSLY? THERE WAS NOTHING FUCKING 3D ABOUT THAT PIECE OF SHIT MOVIE. This 3D bullshit SERIOUSLY needs to stop. It started out with things appearing to go out of the screen..that was interesting (sort of) back then. Then it evolved to something that added depth to a movie (Avatar..)..now it's just a ploy to get more money whilst adding absolutely, utterly, literally NOTHING to the movie. I dare you to find you one single scene where the 3D actually improved on a 2D version. The acting was alright, but annoying here and there. It was the most boring boss fight. It was the most boring build up. I really want to meet the movie itself, kick it in the balls (or ovaries), then spit in its face and kill its pet.
Mephy you remind me of those lame rich kids with nothing better to do than say what you don't like about movies that are clearly not that bad.
I'm sorry but the movie was fine. It was entertaining. The historical references were very obvious yes, but you need to understand the audience it is shooting for. The plot was simple. Which isn't a bad thing at all. More complexity can improve a fim but simplicity does not mean it isn't entertaining.
Seeing anything in 3D is just a mistake on your part.
Maybe you should just not go to movies anymore? Books?
It might not be the best movie but it certainly doesn't condone such a harsh criticism. It was an decent piece of cinema that kept me entertained for a few hours.

It's not my fault they keep making shitty movies. It wasn't "OK", it wasn't "decent". It didn't offer ANYTHING that tons of other movies before it didn't do. It was stale, and completely dumb. I'm not saying it should be Inception complicated, I'm saying that it shouldn't have been so derivative and predictable.
I think Priest looked ok. Glad to hear it wasn't so I didn't waste my money
xo
It was a fine movie.
And Mephy, if you don't want action flicks like this one, stop seeing action flicks in the theaters. All of them will have about the same level of predictability. It's because of the target audience.
What makes predictability such a bad thing? Hell, I know exactly what will happen in my favorite movies because I've already seen them. Yet, they are still great movies.

Kinda off topic but, some friends and I went and saw Sucker Punch and I absolutely loved it even though almost everyone we went with didn't like it. I want to dress up as baby doll for this Halloween
I like how you say the movie was so predictable, but yet you didn't predict the huge disappointment coming. Haha... Next time you go to the movies you might want to do a bit of research on it before so you have an idea of what to expect.
There aren't too many movies that I don't like come to think of it. I always try to think of movies as simple forms of entertainment and nothing more. Just a way of telling a story. Even if I have seen something similar before (for example, I love rom coms, but they ALWAYS follow the same plot) I don't mind because its just something fun to do for a couple of hours. if you go into movies thinking that and not expecting more, maybe you'll enjoy them more?
3D lately is a joke. Avatar was amazing so I figured a lot of them would be after that. I went and saw Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D and not only did it contain maybe 3 scenes I could actually say were 3D it was the crappiest of the movies yet.
Priest looks like an action movie, I wouldn't go into it expecting anything else.
The only thing keeping me from seeing Legion, something that is pretty much in the same vein as Priest, is the fact that they completely butchered something as rich and deep as Christian mythology in favor of "badassery."
I think Christian mythology is badass. The only bad thing about movies based on it either take the preachy route or the outrageously-full-of-bullshit route to extract ticket sales. I could do without the preachy, but I have to say that the latter is quite worse on almost all levels.
Dogma is the only thing that I would consider a good movie based on Christian mythology without going into the other side of the genre. It's not even that good, but I can appreciate a movie with Matt Damon, Ben Stiller, George Carlin, and Alan Rickman. It's not even totally based on Christian mythology (due to it's modern New Jersey setting), but it's enough to keep me satisfied.

I will probably watch it when it hits Netflix.
Surprisingly, it keeps astonishing me that there are even more dumbasses on this forum.
the movie looked horrible in trailers. u should have seen it coming.
My brother and his friends invited me to watch it. I didn't even pay for the ticket. I'm just giving my opinion, and people like Albert "Noomba" Einstein think that I should've gone all The Oracle and predicted that the movie was going to suck.

I was very very disappointed with Legion. The acting in Priest is much better than in Legion.
But to think that Priest was going to be something more than it is, was a mistake. Take it for what it's worth. It delivered what it advertised. Accept it for what it is; An action movie. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I was invited to see it. I hadn't watched the trailer, I hadn't even heard of the movie. I gave my opinion based on my viewing of it, and that's just it..an opinion. There are much better action movies. Priest was a very basic, rudimentary, derivative, dull movie. Nothing new. Not in the graphics, not in the sequences, not in any single thing.

Why does the fact that there are better movies dictate how you perceive this one? I understand there are better movies and having a standard for the films is fine. But why does the fact that there are better movies mean that you still can't enjoy the one you saw?
I know there are better movies. A lot better. Still, that doesn't stop me from enjoying this one. There may be better but that doesn't mean that anything below that standard can't be enjoyable also...ugh nvm.
It's an opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. However, it seems to be your constant opinion of pretty much every movie that comes out that you see in theaters. If your opinion of these films is so bad, if it was as painful as you described, why keep going?

Because I haven't seen my brother in almost 2 years and he's inviting me to go with him? I almost never go to the movies unless it's a movie I really want to see and know that I'm going to enjoy. If it weren't for my brother, I'd never go to the movies to see a film like Priest. I would go to see Thor, to be honest, and I'd expect it to be interesting, which clearly wasn't the case.
Why are you taking my criticisms of movies to heart so much?
I'm just wondering what you expect everyone to think when every movie review you post is always negative. And you have posted a few of them.
