Alright so right now, this mini-game is all that I have been doing on D2: LoD and I have to tell you, it's fun as hell. So I came across this idea to promote it on this site and have everyone play it. So here are the rules:
Summary:
Juggernaut (called Ironman sometimes) is a mini-game to play Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction at the absolute hardest difficulty. I am not going to lie, it is very hard, and if you die, it's over. You make a new account, so realm and ladder issues are a non issue. This requires no high level character before or any other time wasting nonsense before this. You just hop on board. However, the main idea of Juggernaut is not only to play the game at its hardest. The main idea is to make you use only what the game provides you, and to use it at its full extent. Please read the rules thoroughly and if you have any questions, please ask.
Game Requirements:
- Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction
- USWest
- HardCore
- Ladder
Account Requirements:
- A New Account Specifically for Juggernaut
- The account name: IRON-xxxxx
Character Requirements:
- Each character is designed for one juggernaut run only.
- There cannot be 2 character classes of the same type (unless it's 8 man. Talked about later)
- Each character must be Hardcore
- Each character must be Ladder
Pre-Game Rules:
- Meet in a designated channel (usually being "op juggernaut")
- Wait for every player to come.
- Answer any questions.
- Figure out who is the leader.
- Solve any problems.
- If there are 8 people, then have there be 2 sorceresses.
In-Game Rules:
- Party everyone and let everyone loot your corpse.
- Start when everyone is ready
- You cannot buy items from vendors.
- You cannot buy potions or any kind from vendors.
- You cannot repair any items from vendors.
- You cannot go to a healer to heal you.
- The only exception to those rules above is if you must talk to someone for a quest related topic.
- The HellForge hammer can be repaired.
- All quests must be done.
- All Waypoints must be taken.
- Class-Specific Items go to that class.
- Class helping Items go to that class.
- Drop any unwanted items in town.
- Collect all the potions that you can, and save them.
- Be a team player
- If you lag and you're in a dangerous environment, you may quit the game and rejoin.
- If your window closes and you're in a dangerous environment, you may quit the game.
- Listen to the leader.
- If one person needs to stop, wait for him.
If you want to sign up, just say so, and if I get enough people interested, I'll make a sign-up thread.
Can I just add my two cents quickly? I see you posting the word "Jaggernaut" all the time. To be honest, it's quite painfull when I try to pronounce it the way you have it spelt. Is it not supposed to be "Juggernaut"? Or is it the name of these types of game supposed to be spelt with the "a"? I know this seems overboard, but clearly it isn't an accidental typo you make, and it just irks me hardcore to see it spelt like that, sorry. ^^'

Still remember doing Ironman runs back in Diablo I... oh, those were the days.
I think BoD organizes these every so often, you should talk to Nektu about getting on board one if you've got too few people.

I'll play this if we can get one up, but do we have to have a separate account for one character used for Ironman? Also, there is no way in hell that I can remember all the rules for this challenge. The only ones I can remember off the top of my head is, no interacting with npc's whatsoever, unless ofcourse it is with quest related stuff. Umm, does that mean we can't use Cain to identify items for us?

You can use Cain to identify items, along with the ability to buy/revive mercs whenever you want. The rules that really matter are the In-Game Rules and strategies, the rest is just common sense stuff.
Try to make another account for ironman. It'll be easier so that you can have everything in one place and you don't need to delete any characters if your main account gets full.
I'll make my account and character once I get confirmation that this is going on. I can only play an hour or so everyday, usually at about 9 PM EST. Hoping to be a Full Bone Necro.

Alright. Can you also help me get people for this? You can even exceed 8. Just get as many people as possible.
Methinks I'd go for a hammerdin or a smite pally, as I haven't played as a paladin in ages (nor ever doing those types). Of course, since I've never done it, I might be needing advice as to what build.

Kk, so we have 4 total people.
Also, you might not want to be that class since you really can't be a good smiter or hdin without good gear. I would recommend a zealer or a class that starts off good, and stays good.
What, pray tell, is an avenger? A zealer seems obvious, a paladin who uses zeal. I've done that before, but what is an avenger?
Also, what is the plan for death? You mentioned we set it so our teammates can loot our body. But do we go back and rush the person who died with a new character? Are they just done until everyone else dies?

If we can get around 4 people, I'll start a run. Hopefully then we can get more people interested.
