Build Guide
Yo I heard phalanx bowmen was pretty cool, but it doesn't seem to do well against density. Yo, I heard sweep attack was pretty cool, but it doesn't seem to do well single target. Yo, what if we combine them ...
This is a LoN sweep + phalanx build for crusader. The reason it works is the items fit perfectly (helm+shield for phalanx, weapon+shield for sweep) as well as the fact that bowmen are great single target and sweep is great multi target. so they cover each other's weaknesses. Akarat Champion is not needed to receive damage/toughness bonuses either, and wrath generation is a non-issue. As such, cooldown is not as needed as something like Akkhan's set would require. I find keeping cooldown ~33% is all that's needed with this build, as opposed to 56%+ with Akkhan.
Everything is used for pretty obvious purposes. If you aren't gonna hit the 2.4 phalanx breakpoint, feel free to swap out lacuni prowlers and witching hour for other things. Additionally, you can change the sweep rune to another element, thus changing out cindercoat. You can fit leorics in if you really want more cooldown, but it's unnecessary. Swamp land waders should have physical% on them and should be ancient. If you don't have a witch doctor feel free to use something different. Hellfire should have Indestructible or whatever you prefer. If playing hardcore swap out Holy Cause with indestructible. You can also use Long arm of the Law for +5 seconds on Wings of angel duration.
Law of Hope wing of angel is used simply for speed, if you need the extra 8% attack speed use Law of valor. Iron skin can be swapped out for a different rune or skill altogether. Candidates include Condemn vacuum, consecrate any rune, and Falling Sword any rune.
Overall play is just running around with phalanx cast on cooldown, if there's a group of enemies start sweeping. If you're taking damage pop iron skin or akarats, try to stagger them if possible for maximum damage reduction uptime. This build is best used at T13 if fully geared, and below. As such it is a fun build for chilling with, not a GR push build.
Have fun!
