Build Guide
Here is a very tough melee build for the Necromancer, I reached 250-300 million toughness depending on the helmet gem.
High burst damage in short windows, tanking capability, soft and hard CC
Inspired from the DMO Melee Wizard Build
The video is from a GR60/Torment 13 difficulty, it should be useable at higher GR with better optimization.

Basically, you have to place the Decrepify curse on as many mobs as possible to get the damage reduction from your belt, and the damage buff from bane of the trapped and from the Krysbin ring.
the Decrepify rune will provide a bonus CDR, that is always nice to have for Bone Armor and Blood Rush.
use Blood Rush to teleport in with an armor buff and cast Bone Armor to activate the set damage bonus.
keep bone armor up at all times, keep a mob with decrepify alive as the curse will last forever.
Your burst damage will come from combining the convention of elements damage bonus with a stun from bone armor or the golem active skill. you should get 200% + 300% bonus damage from this combo. spam your Bone Nova, you only have 2 to 3 seconds. try to time the stun with the Physical damage buff from convetion of the element.
a few swings from your Grim Scythe will refill your Essence pool quickly and curse all the mobs in melee range, it will always end up putting the leech curse on them, which should give you tons of life leech.
Be careful if you spam the Bone Nova too much, as it will reduce the duration of your bone armor, so always keep an eye out for it.
if you need more CDR for Blood Rush and Bone Armor, you can switch the Convention of Elements for the Zodiac ring.
