I just tried this on current live servers and it was waaaaay worse than HT gargs. My current top is 87, and I could barely do an 82 with this build. What mechanic is changed in 2.4.2 that makes this a considerably more viable build than what is current on live?
I had particular difficulty grouping guys without piranhas, so my gargs were running around like super idiots attacking imps rather than the shit they should be.

Ya, I wish ALL sets were gr85ish capable. Maybe they are and I'm not trying hard enough, but if bigdaddyden don't have one then I imagine it's not a thing.
all sets absolutely aren't gr85 viable sadly. natalyas, arachyr and tal rashas are all examples of that
Basically the same as previous patch taking out Piranhado and using the new ring. I'm not impressed by this - i was hoping for something different from stacking buffs and let gargs do all the work.
Anyway, pretty nice find and i'm going to play this since my S6 WD is basically already geared (i miss only the ring to cube).
Funny you should say that. Tal Rasha is actually 110-viable, as several wizards including Blatty and Zeph demonstrated so far, albeit it is using Archon. Also, I believe Tal Rasha is capable of 85 even with a standard build of energy twisters. Arachyr is probably viable for 80-ish as well, with proper gear, augments and especially with the new RoE ring. It's more powerful than you think, you just need to be on your toes and play it well, paragon and augments.
Yep - leeching beasts imho it too good to pass over. I don't really like that WD builds revolve around the same mechanics; Zuni and HT are too similar and people uses HT because of bigger dmg multipler.
With RoE/WW combo, i can see how any WD build can make use of that blasting out any other option.

A brainfart-idea from a "wd noob" (haven't played him since Fetish-Darts):
In a group with a heal-monk, wouldn't it be better to swap Wormwood <-> Sacred Harvester for the higher Weapon damage?
Or is the damage increase of a ancient wormwood not worth sacrificing the Mojo slot including the 15% garg-dmg and Toughness?
Edit: apparently not. Even without a simulation, d3planner shows that it's 300k sheet dmg less than Harvester-Mojo combi. The pre-rolled poision% from wormwood is also a problem.
Been playing this for a bit a toying with a few variants i'm currently using the homunculus and changing out the zombie dog for sacrifice provoke the pack it stacks to 5 giving 100% dmg
wouldn't it be a possibility to use belt of transcendence for more pets instead of witching hour? is it more or less damage?
The fetishes too often stand in front of the gargs, keeping the gargs out of range and too far away from anything to swing at.
Would Hwoj Wrap be useful for more consistent crowd-control bonus from BotT? Or as a fallback belt if you don't have Witching Hour. Or for extra survivability (hardcore?)?
Haunting Girdle is an option since it lets you release +1 spirit per haunt cast.
