Build Guide
Quin69 here. Hey boyz!
This is the "Firebird's Archon" Wizard, updated for 2.4.1
Archon received some love this patch, and this might end up being the best solo build for Wizards. It is competing against the Vyr's Archon variant on what is best.
Basic game-play strategy:
- When outside of Archon: Stack Chantodo's, reset Archon cooldown with Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac.
- When inside of Archon: Kill enemies. You will be the strongest while you still have stacks overlapping from your previous Archon because of The Swami, so focus on killing enemies at the very beginning of this.
- Make always sure to have at least one elite ignited for the 2000% damage buff from Firebird's.
If you have toughness issues outside of Archon, you can swap out The Furnace for Orb of Infinite Depth and Frost Nova for Explosive Blast (Chain Reaction).
IMPORTANT: For Chantodo's Resolve to proc the Ignite from Firebird's Finery, your highest elemental damage needs to be fire. However, the actual damage of the Chantodo's wave is increased by the same elemental damage type of your Archon rune, which is arcane. For this reason it is recommended to get 20% fire damage and 19% arcane damage.

Would love a guide for this. Damage is insane, but survival is damn near impossible, esp against grift guardians. Also, lots of priority rolls need to be determined. Life-on-hit for wand, for instance?
nvm
I tried furnace to begin with, went straight to 90 GR, got one-shotted all around..
then I switched furnace out for the orb, and was able to tank really well, but it took some time to practice.. you have to teleport around them, proc bracers, stay close to proc the orb.. stuff like that.
Yeah, I noticed, getting oneshot starting from GR60+, the build is VERY squishy. Esp. if I compare to my crusader from previous season.
Quite frustrating to play Wizard this season.
Honestly, this build feels lazy. I appreciate the guidance on the main stat but what makes the rest. I look at guides to learn from the best, I understand that there are trade secrets so to speak but at least give us the stats to focus on. Quin. talk about secondary stats so we can micro-manage to the tee. Either way at least provide the primaries. That way all the boyz can build on their character.. Thanks M8!
Why not swap stricken for esoteric? The damage on this build is pretty huge since you gain 2000% damage against rift guardians but survivability is an issue.
I mean it makes sense. All the top wizard times have like 3+ minutes to spare so you can clearly drop some damage for some survivability
is there any other Firebird's build in this game that does NOT INCLUDES archon? if I would play Archon, I'd get a Vyr's set, dammit!
I'm missing a bit about skill usage while in archon form. When do you use Left click, and when do you use right click?
So far i've just been using mostly right click while spamming 1 and blinking around.
Could you include more detailed stat priorities?
it's because when zodiac ring procs, it only reduces the cd of 1 random skill on cd, in this build you always have 3 skills on cd (archon, teleport, explosive blast)
2piece = uses all runes; which includes reduceing cooldown to 100 seconds
vyr firebird is better, but so god damn hard to know. i do a GR 75 in 7 minutes but if you lose 50 stack elite, you will not able to kill the rift gardian with this build. friebird candoo i like this, but i prefer vyr firebird for better performance and more tankiness.
Well, this build is not the Firebug perse, ive been using this build clearing gr70 np, hard to bug it cause of the high dmg. If you want to get the firebug right u need to remove chantodo and use vyrs.
PD: Its a tankie build if you play properly hehe
