Build Guide
A monk that fights at a distance with enough spirit generation to never actually throw a punch. I guess this could be just as clever as the melee demon hunters of patches past.
This build is a variation in gems and skills from other "The Thrill" builds I have seen here on DiabloFans.com. This is what worked for me by creating a monk that requires no spirit generators and just spams wave of light at a distance. The end effect is a build that uses wave of light at range and the slows (Pinto Pride), stuns (Zei's Vengeance) and knockbacks (from the enchantress) will ensure that zei is doing maximum damage and things do not get close enough to really hurt you.
Gems: Amethyst in the Head, Emeralds everywhere else. Legenerday gems for me were all at level 40; could probably go as low as 35.
Passives: Exalted Soul and Chant of Resonance give more spirit to burn and spirit generation to coincide with Mystic Ally cooldown. All an all it's ideal to have roughly 30-35 spirit per second; so head, weapon enchants help here.
The torch in the cube is essential as it brings the cost of WoL down far enough that generating enough spirit passively is possible. Mantle of Channeling is good for extra damage boost; can substitute Cindercoat if you have a good chest piece already. Unity or one of the various damage/heal amulets are good.
Use dashing strike and mantra of healing defensively when teleporters or leapers come at you to return you to a safe distance. Always make sure sweeping wind doesn't fall off when enemies come near you as this build has no generators.
I used the enchantress as my follower for the knockback ability to keep things at a distance; kormac has a similar ability as well and can essentially tank.

Movement speed is a given in most builds. However, the next priority is having the most spirit you can have. This lessens the chance for being spirit starved with the cooldown of Mystic Ally. Playing around with cooldown reduction and maximum resource can be essential for making this build work properly. Most other paragon selections are fairly easy to follow; there is some decent flex room depending on how many paragon points you actually have.
