Build Guide
update 27/01: clared 77 with this (~rank 500 season EU)
With this build I cleared only 2 grifts below the "gg op dmo arcane orbit" build (my equipment on dmo is much better with a gg wand + almost perfect ring/amulet. overall just better than this EB only build).
Currently I'm at grift 73 (season) and working on beating my own grift 75 record to get into the leaderboards with no standard build. shouldnt take too long.
This build is shared to show people that there are several builds working this season.
The idea was born since I wanted to make a pure EB build work and when I switched to the "flashfire" build for speed rifts.
EB does double damage with firebird equipped (if the item effect of woh now triggers the firebird set, too - it used to don't do that). Also the burn effect is quite nice since it gets boosted by the 6pc tal rasha bonus.
So that would 4000% increased damage with both sets. unfortunately the burn effect actually is weird with this. so you get 4000% dmg until they burn and then the usual 2000% from tal rasha + the burn effect (which is unfortunately far inferior to the ramp up in the first 3 seconds)
If you get CDR on all your pieces you can try switch out esoteric alteration for taeguk. the damage increase would be huge but unfortunately it still stacks very slow compared to lets say whirlwind or something else. and knockbacks or other cc could mess your stacks up. Still need to get some cdr pieces to try it out.
max arcane power in paragon for more uptime on aquila.
primary skill (to proc lightning attack) is up to you. i like spectral blade cus it's the best for stutter stepping. electrocute with surge power is another option and maybe you can drop the max arcane power points in paragon.
I would like to fit barrier blades in here but it seems impossible!?!
This build is NOT optimized. Give me feedback what you think. The potential is there.
I like the build idea... Love EB over DMO Arcane Orbit, so it's nice to see a higher pushing build with EB. I'll have to try it out this weekend.
I like this idea a lot as well.
First thing that comes to mind would be dropping Focus and Restraint and Aquila's. Before you call me crazy, consider the replacements. COE, halo, use OID and cube furnace. COE and cubed Furnace provide a significant damage boost to almost make up for what is lost dropping f/r. Halo and Ancient Parthan Bracer combo provides a significant survival boost, I'd argue more than aquila's.
As I'm writing this, I'm realizing that this means you won't be able to use the frozen mist frost nova rune since it no longer freezes enemies and Parthan requires freeze. I might suggest dropping frost nova from your bars and using black hole supermassive as an arcane spender and lightning damage, barrier blades as your arcane damage, and dropping diamond skin for something else as your cold damage. I'd have to think a bit more, but these are some ideas to start on. Accomplishes getting barrier blades in your build, not having to worry about arcane power being over 90%, and I think overall increasing your survivability in melee range with Halo, Parthan, barrier blades, and more CC from black hole without losing that much damage.
thanks for the feedback.
I admit, I'm missing Halo and trying to make a build with compass rose / travellers pledge / halo instead. the results however are more or less equal to this build... but not changing aquila and orb of infinite depth. you are sometimes a one shot even with those two options up (and they are huge - 50% and 60% dmg mitigation) you can not go with halo and forget about defense.
Furnace is not an option (no room, since Woh, firebirds offhand and Orb of Infinite Depth are kinda locked for those slots)
CoE I've tried as well, with halo. but the damage is underwhelming compared to F/R (obviously).
frozen mist also needs to be changed when using halo since the ring uses the frost nova on your hotbar, so no freeze, no apd and almost no point in using halo...
I've also tried black hole (event horizon and supermassive). first you shouldn't use black hole when using halo since it also fasten the cc immunity process of the mobs.
it's an alternative but it makes almost no damage compared to the signature skills, it feels weird to play (would be cool with hexing pants + illusory boots affixes ) and we need a spam skill for better stacking stricken on the RG.
as i said halo is a nice addition to the defense especially in the grift clear (in combination with apd) but less offense for sure
