Convention of Elements

The Demon Hunter's set dungeons are definitely the easiest I've attempted so far, and this one is probably the most difficult of the bunch, simply because it requires RNG to be on your side for monsters to spawn in a cluster so you can multishot and hit 20 mobs. As long as you have the main Unhallowed Essence pieces and a Yang's Recurve, you can attempt this and it should be simple to clear (once again as long as you get mobs to spawn nicely). Generally just optimising for speed and resource cost reduction is the way to go.
Notes:
- I would avoid using Vault - Trail of Cinders rune as it ends up killing the spiderlings that you want to bunch up. Similarly, I dismissed my follower and didn't use Companions as they also ended up killing the spiderlings.
- The only difficult part of this dungeon getting monsters to cluster up so you can hit 20 of them with a single multishot. My recommendation is to leave and re-enter the dungeon if you cannot get at least 2 or 3 20 hits by the time you clear the first big open area to the north east, since the entrance is fairly close by, which will save time since you don't need to Town Portal. There's not much you can do with this Set Dungeon other than to grind it out.
- You could probably drop a Generator (Evasive Fire) altogether to avoid randomly shooting spiderlings, but you'd have to be careful with your vaults in order to make sure your Discipline is over 50%.
- I haven't tested this out, but it might even be worth attempting this set dungeon without Yang's Recurve, in order to have a slower attack animation which might hit more monsters. If someone tests this out and it works, let me know!

Build Guide
Welcome to my Set Dungeons Build Guides!
You can find general Set Dungeon information and Set Dungeon guides for the other classes at my Set Dungeon Thread.
This build focuses on the Unhallowed Essence Set for the Demon Hunter.
Requirements for Mastery
- Kill all monsters.
- Hit 20 enemies with a single Multishot, 6 times.
- Never drop below 50% Discipline.
Location: Act 2, Howling Plateau. The portal spawns just before the canyon area behind the Howling Plateau waypoint, next to a broken Caravan. You can access this by using the Howling Plateau waypoint and going backwards, or by starting at town (Hidden Camp) and walking through the Caldeum Bazaar and heading North-East.

I agree that this is definitely annoying but you should attempt some of the others (looking at: Witch Doctor Jade Harvester, Barbarian Wastes, Crusader Rolands). I don't think that mobs should spawn randomly inside these Set Dungeons but I can see their logic in having it have some RNG like rifts. You really need to play the RNG to your favour at the start of this Set Dungeon otherwise it's better to remake.
Good luck!
Nice upload.. Got threw it,, But made a couple changes,, still took a few goes but got it done.
1; Multi-shot, Swapped out Arsenal for Fire at Will.. better cause it has No rockets and costs less Hatred.
2: Cube... drop Cinder Coat,,, for Illusory Boots,......... helps to round up mobs
Tip make sure to clear everywhere ,, the little buggers hind in corners..
Thanks for your work..
I specifically don't use the fire rune on Vault so that it doesn't kill the spiders as I vault through monsters, which rounds up monsters anyway. Either way with the resource cost reduction on Yang's Recurve you should be fine with both setups.
I cleared this again in two or three attempts on Softcore to get the conquest, one other tip is to vault forwards as soon as you shoot your Multi-shot, which will allow you to hopefully hit more monsters that might be on the edge of your screen.
Rockets are bad, they hit way to many spiders off the screen. I used full broadside for nice dmg boost.
Also didn´t use Evasive Fire cause it kills the little spiders sometimes by accident.
With Illusory Boots its easy to get the mobs together.
The Full Broadside rune on Multishot is definitely an alternative, I'm pretty sure you could use any of the runes and the UE 6 Set Bonus will kill everything anyway.
I did have the odd occasion where I sometimes fired Evasive Fire and killed spiders but I've played a lot of Demon Hunter so I'm probably more careful about it. It's a good alternative not to skill it at all, or put Vault perhaps on your Left Click. Again vault helped me round up monsters just as easily, but Illusory Boots can certainly help out too so thanks for the suggestion, either in the cube or worn, I'll put it as an option in the build guide!
why calamity?
There's no particular reason other than I used Calamity last season when it was the best Weapon slot for Kanai's Cube. You could easily use Dawn or any other option, the weapon option shouldn't really affect your Set Dungeon mastery.
I've tried this set dungeon a few times, but haven't been able to get enough groups of 20.
I was wondering if anyone's tried using a cubed chanon bolter in the cube and tossing out an unruned spike trap to draw the spiderlings together. I'm not sure if the spike trap would do enough damage to accidentally kill the spiderlings, and even so, you could reduce your damage, since that's really not an issue with this dungeon.
I'd try it myself, but my DH is seasonal, and I've sharded every chanon bolter I've gotten instead of cubing one (I mean, whoda thunk I would ever want its ability?)
Unfortunately the spiderlings havve very little health and usually die to a single Evasive Fire attack so they'd definitely die to the Spike Trap.
Restart the dungeon until you get at least 2 of the 20 kill objectives done at the very start before you hit the first open area. You should be able to get at least 2 more of the 20 kill objectives in the open area.
Have you tried using a different bow and vaulting forwards straight after casting Multishot? I suspect the faster attack animation that Yang's Recurve has means you also have less time for Multishot to hit monsters on the screen, so this might be an option for you as well.
Good luck!
Unfortunally this, as many set dungeons, is very badly designed. The
concept is cool but poorly executed. There is basically no margin to run
around and gather up mobs since they are too slow and won't follow you
very far. So you are basically left to chance. Done this about 20 times
now and I've given up on any type oc strategy. Too many groups far apart
that consist of less than 20 mobs and there is no time to round them
up. Basically just spam MS and hope for the best. Ive gotten as far as
5/6 and it's way better than when I tried to use any kind of tactic
This set dungeon is beyond retarded RNG bullshit.
