Build Guide
Hey boyz!
In my opinion/experience this build is currently the strongest possible monk setup for speed farming T7-T10 Content on a monk!
Please note: I always keep my diablo fans guides up to date and will be making adjustments to the guide whenever there is a shift in meta! so be sure to check back, and vote on the guide!
Basic game-play strategy:
- Kill every elite pack you see (to proc in-geom)
- Use blinding flash on cooldown (when in combat)
- Use Breath of Heaven on cooldown (for movement speed)
- Use Air Ally when your spirit is below 200
- Use dashing strike for all movement when in-geom buff is up!
- Wave of Light EVERYTHINGGG
Skill variations:
- Dashing Strike - Radiance (for reduced animation time on dash/WoL)
- Sweeping Wind - Inner Storm (replace BoH - This only becomes helpful when you cannot "One Punch" everything)
- Mantra of Salvation - Agility (replace MoC - This is only useful if you are playing HC, or do not have boon of the hoarder setup)
Legendary Gem variations:
- Bane of the Powerful - Swap out Boon of the hoarder for max DPS setup (only recommended for super tryhards)
Kanai's cube variations:
- Envious Blade - Swap out Incense torch of the grand temple for true "One Shot Monk" gameplay (only recommended for advanced players)
- Nemesis bracers - Swap out Warzechian Armguards for easier gameplay (only if you can't be bothered swapping Nems to click shrines/pylons)
- Gloves of worship - Swap out Warzechian Armguards if you're in a 4 man speed group, this will probably be better than Warzechian's
Hellfire Passive/Alternative setups:
- Sieze the initiative (reduced animation time of Dashing strike/WoL
- Harmony (if you are having trouble surviving & HC players)
- Near death experience (for HC players)
- Momentum (if you lack damage output)
FAQ:
Q: Why don't we use Epiphany?
A: Currently there is a bug with WoL+Epiphany that causes it to do 0 Damage to the center of the attack =_="

are the pants only for recovering Spirit? Cause using wave of light forces to stand still. So the damage is reduced by 25%
My only question is , how does he get that amount of legendary drops ? never saw something like that not even on vault ... pls answer :c
video is from PTR
Thnks a lot anyway really apreciated ^^
I am currently para 500, only using 2/3 legendary gems that are both lvl 25, without the hellfire amulet, missing 5 ancient pieces and running T8 rifts with this build in about 4 minutes. Its really easy.
i currently have problem when using this build. whenever mobs are around wave of light dmgg seems ok (around 2-4b) but when i meet elite and there only one mob left wave of light seems bug because i have to cast many times to see a crit dmg (>1b). does it related to ephany skill bug because if only one mob remain i will cast WOL on center of that mob
based on my reasearch on d3 forum this LON build is 25% better dmg than sunwuko
Can someone confirm if the bug still exists which causes wave of light to do 0 damage at its center while epiphany is active?
Love playing this build but there's something I'm iffy about. Would you still use the rune Zephyr while playing solo? The bonus seems to only apply to allies and not yourself or maybe I just don't notice the speed boost? What would you change it for? Also, does Epiphany really make WoL glitch? I sometimes drop a WoL dead on the center of a mob and it does little to no damage even without Epiphany on my set up, although I did notice it happens more often with Epiphany on my set up. Is it due to low paragon levels?
Comments:
Seize the Initiative should be core over either Fleet Footed or Beacon of Ytar. It adds more movement the faster cast the dashing strike and more damage with the faster cast for WoL.
Rings enchants- Straight Damage seems to as good as peak CHC/CHD rolls. I have an ancient wailing host with Dex/CHC 4.5/CHD 46 and another ancient wailing host with Dex/CHD~45/Dmg and the Dmg roll seems to give me slightly better crits. Now, the CHC roll on the former ring isn't perfect, so I surmise that Dmg is just about as good.
GR- this isn't a GR build, but it's good for leveling gems up to 50 as it runs up to 50 or even 55 fast. I swap avirice for unity and it's doable.
I've gotten all ancient gear with decent to near-perfect rolls. I would say my gear is ~90-95% as good as quin's - lousier kyoshiro and gems at lesser levels.
This build rocks. Thank you quin for another excellent build.
Hey guys. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts...
To start, let me say that I just hit paragon 500. I have all the pieces to this build but only 3 or 4 of them are ancient. Even so, I'm still finding this build a lot of fun to play with and I can clear T7/8 rifts with little effort. I can go higher, but I'm still working out the controls...
Speaking of controls, I noticed there were some people having trouble moving and attacking. Right away when looking at the skill assignments I thought having WoL on LMB was kind of weird, so here's what I did:
LMB: Mystic Ally
RMB: Wave of Light
1: Mantra of Conviction
2: Dashing Strike
3: Blinding Flash
4: Breath of Heaven
Wheel: Force Move
Okay. I realize having Dashing Strike in slot 2 is very weird, but that's where I'm personally used to having it. When I want to dash, I almost instinctively press down with my ring finger so having anything else there might be troublesome for me, haha.
Anyway, the point is that by moving WoL to RMB I can use it at any time without having to click directly on a target or hold SHIFT. I can keep running.
---
Speaking of "keep running", there are a few thoughts I have about my experiences with mobility with this build.
First off, I love the speed. Even without the dashing, movement speed feel really nice and I don't feel like I'm trying to run through 4 feet of water all the time (before this, I tried Quin's Uliana/EP/SSS build, and while it is a great screen-clearer, it felt incredibly slow to me).
I have two ways to walk: LMB or MW (mouse wheel). I'm still getting used to moving with the wheel, but it works.
Moving by LMB feels better to me, but there are a few issues with it. The obvious issue is that sometimes this will inadvertently trigger Mystic Ally when I don't necessarily need it (or rather, don't know that I need it because I'm not watching my resource gauge). In a way, this might actually be helpful because it's "automatically" refilling my Spirit without me having to think about it.
The other issue I have (and this one I'm hoping someone can shed some light on for me) with using LMB for walking is that often the Monk will just stop moving, in which case I have to release LMB and press it down again. I haven't been able to figure out what exactly is causing her to stop. I'm able to hold LMB and cast my various abilities while walking and that doesn't stop her, yet amidst the chaos of battle she will often stop moving. I'll keep testing to try and figure it out. This is the only real problem I have with using LMB with this build.
I realize this is a long post, so that's enough for now.
Update:
Figured I'd share a slight variation I did on this. My Tzo Krin's Gaze is not ancient, but I have an Eye of Peshkov that is, so I equipped the Eye of Peshkov and use Tzo Krin's Gaze in the cube instead of the armguards. By sacrificing a little bit of that extra speed boost, I'm adding another ancient to my gear and also getting the 50% CDR on Breath of Heaven.
Is this build actual in 2.4.2?
