*This build is BASED on Thorns, so you want as much THORNS DAMAGE as possible!,
-
Good Information about HOW THORNS WORKS:

-
There is multiple good setups for Weapon/Shield, I'd recommend:
a) T10: DB + LW or AA
Solo Push: PS + AA
c) Grift Speeds: DB + AA
d) Grift Push: PS + VS or AA
* Having correct stats is the most important thing! So if your LW is perfectly rolled and ur AA is junk, then use ur LW.
** LW = Lidless Wall (shield) --- BTW a tip for all, if you need a better Lidless Wall, then craft it on a barbarian. Your 8 times more likely to get a Lidless Wall on a barbarian from blood shards and upgrading rares to legendaries with Death Breaths than on a crusader.
** DB = DoomBringer (weapon)
** PS = Pig Sticker (weapon)
** AA = Akarats Awakening (shield)

SKILL ROTATION: Law/Prophet > Iron Skin (Phys CoE) > Consecration > Punish
-
Great Tips / Suggestions for the build:
1. Use Iron Skin and Consecration / Bombardment when you have +200 % Physical dmg from CoE.
2. In order for Belt of Trove to use "Barrels of Spikes" rune you must have Bombardment equipped.
3. Most important part of Belt of Trove, is to keep up the 50 % DMG Reduction from (4) set bonus.
4. ... (make comment if u got suggestions)

Needs to be Tested (feel free to help test):
A) Sanguinary vambracers if they work with (2) piece invokers
B') Hack, if it works multipliactive with strg and how much % dmg increase it is
C) Omnislash belt, see if it makes Punish deal AOE dmg. Maybe even procs Hack.
D) Slash, use rune Zeal. Reaching 3 attack per second, might work with Hack!
E) Voy'Toyias Spiker, See if it works multipli- or additive. Works with skills or not? Better than arats awakening?
F) Iron Skin, if you use it before Consecration, does it work for 4 seconds or all 10 seconds?
G) Snapshot, is Iron Skin / Thorns dynamic or static?
H) Blood Brother vs. The Mortal Drama, which one is the best?
I) Block cap? Do we go way above block cap with Blood Brother?
H) ... (make comment if u got suggestions)

I am yet to see a SINGLE video of anyone doing at least 85 with this build. It simply does not exist.
1 person in seasons. That's A LOT indeed. And folks on NS just did 82 lol
And you so easily wrote "87+" ... Nowhere near.
That's best build for season 5? I mean build and class... for pushing grifts?
Blood brother damage bonus does not apply to the 6 pc.
Elite damage bonus does.
Check your reddit link and I tested myself.
Blood brother is still good for mitigation but it is not fantastic. If you are surviving but not doing good damage I recommend furnace since above gr 70 you are really only elite sniping.
Make sure you always stack coe with reflective skin or all of this is pointless anyway.
One of the coolest guides on Diablo fans. Great job and thank you!
Just to give a small example to people; I've tried this build since start and have tried to get my gear as good as possible, and am now doing Grift 70 on farm, whereas last season 55 was my max (as a very casual player you see).
Some stats you might want to aim at are:
- 277,492 Thorns Damage (with 38k coming from Topaz in weapon and 72,8K from Boyarsky's Chip (lvl 71))
I've just tried to get Thorns on every item possible including neck and belt, no luck on rings (is it even possible? I don't know)
- 12,950 Strength
Having 9 items Ancient really helps here, also 1 Caldesann's Despair lvl 50 for 250 extra str
- 44% Attack Speed unbuffed (59% in combat)
This goes up by another 15% in combat and should get your Attacks per second to:
- 2,29 Attacks per second (2.53 in combat)
The higher the better
- 85% Area Damage
This is only how far I have gotten it, I should get it higher
- 42% Cooldown Reduction
I need this to be higher but my shield rolled Falling Sword dmg and I changed an unnecessary stat to thorns instead
- 88% Block chance
This is with Blood Brother in my cube, which I'm planning on changing to a furnace if I find another one. I was once at 100% but don't really feel a difference in damage taken here.
- 40% Life bonus (816K Life total)
Get meaty!
- 42,500 Life Per Hit
This could be higher but already makes heals me insanely well with as with 2.5 hits a second I heal 100K every second and for now that's fine on Grift 70.
- 1000 + Resistance to all (my lowest is 1069, highest is 1276)
Obviously so you don't get instantly killed by anything pink, green, red, blue etc, etc.
And that's about it for the most important ones I guess.
I know these aren't the best stats, but with this, or similar to this, you can do 70 Grift and possibly higher, should you be more motivated than me.
Still not a completely useless stat. In higher grifters when you are beating on groups of mobs for much longer it could help. But I would not prioritise over CDR or AS
Templar? I'm sorcerer all the way for her AS buff. Templar is for LON build (opinion)
Roughly how much more % damage would an extra 9500 thorns be with the 6 piece set, HoI and Hack in cube? Would 9k+ thorns add more damage than say 20% physical?
Would it be worth it to keep an amulet that has otherwise crappy stats if it has Thorns? Or would I be better off with an amulet that gives Physical %, CDR, AS, but no thorns?
Also how relevant is extra STR in this build? I know it adds to Thorns and it ends up being more relevant than VIT even with HoI, but should I prioritize adding STR to my ancient gear with the new cube recipe or is the sort of thing where it helps but it's more something that I should be working towards after I've already got really solid gear. Like will an extra 600-700 STR or so make much of an immediate diff in damage?
I have almost 96,000 thorns, and I can't get enough DMG output for past 72 (perferct GR, I might go higher) so I am unsure how much an extra 10K thorns would do me.
Dont overlook the 600 STR though. Thats almost 150 paragons (after you've capped at 800). Thats HUGE.
If you can do that to each item, it almost negates the need to grind all those paragons that the BOTTERS have managed to get on us.
Adding to this - specifically for the BB vs Hack in the cube.
BB looks hands down BiS on paper, while i have experienced this:
- added block chance is nice, but assuming you have max rolled gear, we get up to 97% block chance WITHOUT punish buff. It sounds really good, but in fact since JL is capped at 100% block (tried to go over the cap and toughness/reduced dmg stops increasing) Punish buff is actually largely ignored. However, counting all reduction bonuses and capped block, we can get up to a total of 94.38% of total dmg reduction.
- the 30% dmg increase on blocked attacks works only with Consecration and base punish attack; it does not increase the 6pc damage added on punish. So again, looks good on paper but actually contributes less than expected.
- the real deal is the added blocked damage, which does wonders in terms of survivability since we're basically block capped.
I tried to cube Hack then, and this is what i have found:
- with maxed rolled gear, we get to 77% block chance, up to 92% if we add the Punish buff. While we're not at 100% block chance for JL, counting all bonuses we hav a grand total of 93.83% dmg reduction. Basically, it's less than a 1% loss and we actually make use of Punish.
- Hack bonus is additive with 6pc, meaning that you get punish base damage + 650% thorns form 6pc + 100% thorns from Hack; not exactly a great increase, plus aoe attacks like Consecration will affect only the first mob hit with hack bonus.
- the real deal: Hack works with 2pc bonus. Not only counts the stacks, but also procs in a 15yd radius; basically we're baking all thorns damage in an aoe spammable attack and it's a really good damage incease, plus a tool that covers the lack of aoe the spec has (still, we're elite sniping for fast progress).
I don't actually know which one is better for pushing; my experience is that with Hack i have sensible faster clearing atm. It's very likely that at higher levels the additional survivability from BB is better, but don't dismiss Hack immediately.
FYI, Hack+BB doesn't work as good as expected, only good place for Hack is the cube.
Yeah. I just realised I have 9k thorns on my wpn for speed farming rifts (I one hit blues) so no need for speed of pig sticker. But pushing GR I need pig sticker for the LoH (life on hit almost 60k)

96,000 thorns is not much at all mate, get like 200k and it'll be a breeze imo
Block is capped at 75% for gear stats and passive. It has been confirmed/shown that both Blood Brother (+20%) and Punish - Celerity (+15%) can exceed the 75% cap and reach up to 100% total, which will also provide an additional 13.75% Damage Reduction from Justice Lantern. Do note that the 100% Block Chance will not block EVERY blockable attack, but it will block more than the 75% soft cap allows, estimated to be somewhere in the 95% range.
In addition to the extra Block Chance, which can provide more ticks from Akarat's Awakening, and the extra Damage Reduction from the Lantern, Blood Brother provides an additional 30% Reduction to blocked attacks. The Furnace may be a better weapon overall when you're fully geared, but Blood Brother definitely provides advantages that aren't immediately obvious.
for this build 75 gr is max if you lucky enough
So, silly question. If the only way to have the thorns damage on Bombardment is to actually have Bombardment equipped, what's the point of the Belt of the Trove?
it is very interesting nice one
