Hey Everyone,


So the meta for support barbs have changed a bit over the last weeks. Static charge monks have become super dominant and everyone in group is trying to proc SC as much as possible. The way we can achieve this with Barbarian is to use Wrath of the berserker - Slaughter. This is gonna give a lot of procs on Static charge which = more damage.


Quick breakdown of the item choices:


Born's 3 set: We are using this because it gives us more Experience and CDR. The support barb doesnt give out a lot of damage. So we are making up for it by giving EXP and survivability to the group.


Captain Crimson 3 set: This is gonna give us a good amount of survivabillity. Which is important because sometimes we have to stay away from group to drag mobs and create density.


Pride of Cassius: This is an obvious choice. 6 seconds more of Ignore Pain is huge for the you and the group.


Ess of Johan: I like this amulet. Because it helps keep mobs together and it helps when youre fighting in small doorways. Because your Harpoon can group up the mobs in front of the door which is gonna make it easier for you to pull them through the door. If you are struggling with surviving then use Hellfire with Superstition as your 5th passive this is gonna give your more damage reduction and help you survive.


Rings:

Obsidian ring of the Zodiac. This is in my opinion absolutely required when you are running Wrath of the berserker. You have a very big cooldown in Wotb. And Zodiac helps huge amounts with having 100% uptime on Wotb.


Hellfire ring: This is not needed but it is great for experience. You can use Leorics signet or Ocolus ring. I would use Leorics signet because Ocolus usually doesnt roll very well.


Weapons: Bul-Kathos weapons are the primary choice for weapons here. Most for the fury regen which is gonna keep you at maximum fury. You generate fury when you take damage which is not enough to keep you at max. Attack speed means more crit hits, which then leads to more Wotb pros --> More DPS.


The Cube:


There are a few options for the cube. But the best in my opinion are. Shard of Hate, Leoric's Crown and Ring of Royal Grandeur. Here is why


Shard of Hate: When youre using WW Hurricane SoH is gonna shoot out frostbolts which procs Ice blink. If you want to go full "proc mode" and use WW Dust Devils. Then switch to Fjord Cutter in cube.


Leoric's Crown: Easy choice. It gives much more Experience to the group. A chilaniks chain can also be used here to make the group move faster between mobs.


Ring of Royal Grandeur: Dont need to say anything about this. Its an amazing ring.


Gem Choices


First our gear gems.

Helm: Ruby = More bonus XP

Chest: Amethyst or Diamond - Depending on how much health you have and how much All res you have. Make a decision

Pants: Same as chest.

Weapons: 1x Gem of Ease 1x Amethyst - Might aswell give yourself some more XP with the Gem of ease. Amethyst gives you life per hit which is gonna keep you alive. So if youre having trouble living. Then use 2x Amethyst.


Legendary gems:


Esoteric Alteration: Is an easy choice here. It is gonna help us stay alive much easier.


Gem of Efficacious Toxin. We dont use this for the DoT damage. But for the 10% damage its gonna give the group.


Ice Blink: This is great for damage reduction (frozen enemies dont deal damage) and it also gives the group 10% crit chance against the frozen mobs.

Quick rundown of paragon:


Core: Movement speed is gonna help you run out to get mobs. Vit is gonna help you survive. Strength and Max Resource is not really needed.


Offense: CDR - A lot of cooldowns. Crit chance is gonna help your WotB. Attack speed is gonna keep you alive because of your Life per hit. Crit damage is not needed at all.


Defense: All Resist -> Life -> Armor -> Life regen. This is basically just to stay alive when youre not in the group. And its also gonna protect against the one shots.


Utillity: Life on hit - More survivabillity -> Resource cost reduction is good because youre not gonna run out of fury. Area damage can lag out the server because its bugged. But gold find is absolutely useless.

Build Guide

Your main role with this build is to keep the group alive and make sure there is good density. So try and move with the group as much as possible. But when you set up somewhere new. Your job is to scout around for density. Let the group know where there is good density and then run around pulling stuff like elites to make a big juicy pack of mobs. When you got a good group of mobs. Stay with the group and make sure you have full uptime on Ignore Pain, War Cry and Wrath of the berserker. In that order. Dont prioritize Wotb over Ignore pain. A lot of times if you dont have ignore pain up frozen will freeze the group or jail and everyone will die. KEEP IGNORE PAIN 100% OF THE TIME. IT IS SO IMPORTANT.
