Moonlight Ward
This is how you can get Sage's Set WITH focus and Restraint WITHOUT using Ring of Royal Grandeur. You sacrifice a significant amount of damage from meteors unless you use Nilfur's Boots in the cube.
Slots with potential substitutes and why I think these are the best choices.
Main Hand
Wand of Woh or In-Geom are ideal. You want both effects for the perfect setup, which means choosing one in the cube.
Wrist
Nemesis gives more elites to keep In-Geom up, as well as more drops of Death's Breaths to get multiplied by the Sage's set.
Cube
Weapon slot is obvious. If your missing In-Geom you are kind of screwed. If you're missing Woh, Envious Blade is another option.
Armor is probably best Nilfur's. The amount of damage they add to Tal's set is really high. If you are not convinced or don't have them, or are doing a RoRG variant, something like Gloves of Worship or Ice Climbers may be better. For amulets since this is a point blank AoE build, Moonlight Ward can add some additional damage, or Convention of the Elements can be used to boost damage. On the defensive side, Unity or Halo are also obvious options, which may be ideal given the nature of the build.

Build Guide
Teleport onto enemies, point blank blow them up with Explosive Blast, Frost Nova, and Wave of Force, teleport on. Note that Frost Nova and Explosive Blast do not require any cast animation.
It's important to get a certain degree of cooldown reduction, to get Teleport and Frost Nova down to the lower cooldown do whatever timing you need to to make it 0 with In-Geom. This will let you spam them relentlessly for damage, safety, etc.
Audacity and Blur are self explanatory. Elemental Exposure is a huge boost to damage. Last passive is preference.
