Patch 2.2 brought some flexibility to the Barb, so I thought I'd take a look at the throwback Throw Barb build. While it's not suitable for high greater rifting solo, perhaps some people may find it useful for casual gameplay and group play. The Immortal King's set and the Focus/Restraint gems allow you to maximize damage of quite a few skills, so the Ancient Spear/Boulder Toss is just something fun to play with. The 6-piece bonus gives you 100% extra damage, but if you're looking to keep up your Fury, opting to go with the 4-piece bonus and Tasker and Theo may pay off with more attacks from your Call of the Ancients. The amount of flexibility between 6-piece bonus setup with F+R or RoRG/Unity/SoJ, or opt for a 4-piece setup with similar rings and the Tasker setup and make use of other available items.

More attack speed benefits you to help regenerate Fury, so it's not something to shy away from, hence the Steady Strikers or Lacuni Prowlers. An Ess of Johan may be something effective to run with for grouping purposes with Weapon Throw so that your Boulder Toss would be more effective. Rolling Call of the Ancient damage on your Shoulders and Chest can benefit greatly, as well as rolling Ancient Spear damage on Helm and Boots.

This specific setup is one of a handful of directions you can take this build and can be configured in many effective ways beyond this.

If you intend on throwing boulders only when you are at or near Max Fury, then you should place points into max resource after you've maxed your movement speed.

Crit Dmg - Crit Ch - Attack Speed. Since your Cooldown Reduction isn't as necessary and your Attack Speed helps your Fury regen in many ways, then it's best to go IAS before CDR.
Build Guide
The Throw Barb seems to be quite a bit stronger with all the recent changes. With the IK setup you can keep permanent Wrath of the Berserker quite easily to get a permanent damage boost and also making use of several skills already in place. The IK changes and Bastions of Will really helped bring this build back around for another shot to do quite a bit more damage. This will probably work quite a bit better in group play since the damage radius of Boulder Toss is only 9 yards, but it can certainly be used for some casual solo gaming.
