Headslot can be any beneficial ancient helmet which is most likely the Leoric's Crown with an Amethyst since this is not a cooldown dependant build.

Shoulders and the constant dumping of all Essence keep the damage reduction bonus active all the time.

Chest can be any chest as long as its ancient even a set item because you wont wear any other set item anyway.

Since this is a close range build you always have the damage reduction from the belt active when at least once enemy is close to you because of the frailty aura.

Simulacrum always does maximum damage with its scythe when you use scythe in combination with the offhand. With the 100% more essence rune the simulacrum does twice the damage and you gain more damage bonus from the offhand.

Reilena's Shadowhook grants you about 325% damage bonus while the simulacrum is active. Varies by about 5% depending on essence bonus on your gear.

Lornelle's Sunstone is a personal choice. Its prefered for groups but solo a Unity might be better.

Stone Gauntlets are essential for this build and with Ice Climbers you are immun to the gauntlet's negative effects and all other movement or attack speed losses and when you build its stacks, active bone armor and not full essence you should end up with roughly 1.2 billion toughness.

Since Krysbin's Sentence and the Ancient Parthan Defenders needs stunned targets, we got to have stuns. The bone armor provides one, the frost golem provides the second (and a 10% crit chance bonus for ten seconds) and our follower (paladin is prefered) provides the third and fourth stun.

For our follower to stun as many enemies as possible, equip him with an Azurwrath, Bul-Katho's Wedding band and an Ess of Jordan. The weapon has an aura that has a 20-25% chance to freeze enemies but it hits only demons and undead. The Wedding band with its own aura hits all enemies around the paladin and benefits from the 20-25% stun chance. Shield doesnt matter which one. The charge ability with a ten second cooldown is the fourth stun. The Ess of Jordan keeps enemies close to you sometimes. The more enemies there are, the more you benefit from these effects.

Second ring is reserved for a unity for solo adventures.

Yes, the weapon bonus is only half active. With the frailty aura you have one curse active at all times and you will get the bonus damage to cursed enemies but you wont have the other two curses active. You can switch to the cursed scythe if you feel more comfortable with more health per enemy hit gained and cursed enemies dealing less damage to you.

Enjoy.

Maximum resource is a must have when you build your paragon levels at the start of your season but resource cost reduction is completely irrelevant because our mages arent a damage source and the only resource spender of this build.

Build Guide

This is not a speed build. Its very tanky build without any speed enhancers.

This build is an adaptation of the poison scythe build. Instead of poison damage, its build for more attack speed and independant of keeping track of five different abilities. Its a much more chill build. You gain two attack speed buffs from normal scythe attacks (max 15%) and the mages (max 15%) that you drop every time you have some essence. The more enemies hit with scythe, the more essence you have the more mages you have active and the longer they keep one of the attack speed buffs active.

The main strength of the build is the synergy of the offhand, the double essence pool through the simulacrum rune, Reilena's Shadowhook and the amount of mobs you can hit at once. The more mobs you hit with a strike, the more essence you restore, the more damage you deal.

With 1.000 paragon and no augments you can reach Grift 100 if you have an ancient in every slot for maximum benefit of legacy of dreams gem.
