Damn, I wish someone would give me lots of good gear too!!!
On the beta any item with +attack or +3-x dmg is instantly 10x more valuable than anything else.
In a way it kind of sucks that every single character desires the exact same two stats.

its awesome but the funny thing is lashing tail kick is way better, becuase it cost less then HALF the spirit of lethal decoy and the combined damage is 450% vs lethal decoys 275%. and crimson runed it has as big a AOE as decoy too.
so it really makes lethal decoy kind of useless if a skill that cost less then half the spirit can be better. just sayin, i know he was trying for a one-shot of leoric. but LD should have some other mechanic making it different or else theres zero pointing in having it with LTK existing, later on when you have to choose your skills wisely.

yeah they improved lashing tail kick alot, removed its annoying cooldown and it is more practical than lethal decoy but one shoting feels awesome and almost zero shoting makes you look badass.
BTW does it make a difference that lethal decoy is holy damage and lashing tail is weapon damage??
even if it makes a difference WoL makes more damage per spirit than lethal decoy and both are holy...
The monk is indeed fun as hell to play....for about 10 seconds, and then you run out of spirit. After that you spend the next two minutes only spamming your fist attacks to regenerate your spirit.

So because you have to use spirit generators the monk isn't fun?

Haha, have you tried the demonhunter? That class is twice as bad, and at least the monk has some fun abilities.
You might be confusing the old demon hunter with the new one.
The hatred regenerates quite fast on its own, and I rarely have to use hatred generators with the current build I use.
Elemental Arrow is so cheap, 5 Hatred, I can basically cast it forever. In fact none of the demon hunter skills really cost all that much. At least nothing compared to the monk, and the DH can actually regenerate her hatred.
I just timed it, with shadow power I can completely regenerate my 150 hatred in about 10 seconds. Which is about the amount of time it takes me to deplete my hatred spamming Chakram(10 Hatred).

No. Its not fun, because I can rarely use the cool abilities. Instead, I just go around spamming crippling wave.

Because crippling wave is the only generator.
I said, fist attacks before, but who cares which you use?
I am talking about the inability to use the Spirit spenders here.
Personally, I prefer to use Crippling wave on trash, and Exploding palm on bosses.
I have to kill 6 groups of mobs with Crippling wave to use 1 Lashing tail kick. Ohh but wait, there is an archer way over there so I will use Dashing strike. Damn, now I just lost 15 spirit....I guess I have to find a couple more groups to kill.
All I am saying is that the monk is fun, but he would be better if you could actually use more his other skills more than occasionally.

besides with just the default 6 spirit per attack every combination give you 18 spirit (thats more than what you need for dashing strike), do one combination with each generator since you get bored of generator skills fast and you get 36 spirit (more than what you need for lashing tail), do 3 combinations with sweeping winds to reach highest stack then finish with exploding palm and you get all the spirite you need for any skill the monk has...

yes but you shouldnt have to spec an entire build just to be able to use a low costing spirit spender. the generators should generate minimum 10 spirit, or severely reduce spirit costs. or both. otherwise your spending 80% of the time doing generators

Why should they? I don't understand what people are getting on about, the monk isn't built to be spamming power attacks. If you want that go with the barb.

that makes no sense. you basically said "if you want a more powerful character, choose barb" directly implying the barb can use more powerful attacks more often therefor making him better and by that statement the monk DEFINITELY needs buffing or revamping. so thanks for agreeing

i agree that the costs are too much and should be reduced (Wol 80-Decoy 60 -SSS 30), if not then change the spirit back to 200(the costs used to be low but they increased the costs because they removed some cool downs and increased the damage)

No, I'm saying if you want to spam power attacks go barb. The monk isn't designed for constant high damage single attacks, he's designed for multiple quick med powered attacks with occasional high damage assault tactics.

generate easly 12-15 spirite per second (AKA Wol highest spirite spender every 9 secs) also you generate about 3 per second without doing one punch....
.
.
want more spirit

ps: i was going overboard with that build just to show you how high you can go but you don't need to pick them all..
something like that will be enough http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#UhYdSg!ZaV!ZbZcZb
wait.... the monk no longer has 200 max spirit?! GTFO.... thats even MORE insane. no longer choosing the monk as my first char if thats the case
