posted a message on Itemization and Drop Rates have got me down.
drop rate isn't that bad imo but the quality needs to be that even ilvl60 uniques are better than ilvl 63 blues, in other words make every unique item that drops overpowered and all around awesome, maybe even add some affixes like xx% chance to activate x skill when hit, reduce cooldowns by xx% or summon x monster when you crit, weapons that fear or knockback....etc this way they act different and are truly unique
i want to jump in joy when a set item or a legendary drops because they are a guranteed to be awesome (of course unless you are really unlucky and the drop was a low level legendary)

posted a message on Jay Wilson: I think the fun is in playing the game, not working out how to play it.
i find theorycrafting in game 999999 times better cause you get to see how the skill works first hand for example i included dashing strike in almost every build i made but when i played the open beta i didn't like how it works and it felt clunky.
in D3 you are going to theorycraft but this time it is going to be more like a continious polish, testing and improvement of your build not a calculated build that you work towards.

posted a message on AMD Radeon Video Driver (Catalyst 12.4)
    Quote from redial

Pretty Happy Im switching over to nvidia this week, Amd's driver problems were endless.
i didn't expect them to have good drivers for the desktop, since i downgraded my laptop from GTX 560m to HD6470m because their mobile drivers gave me hell (or inferno :P)
but i do remember not having any problems with my 7800gt years ago so i give them that.

on-topic: i think it is blizzard's fault even if the new driver cause some issues with the game they shouldn't block it. maybe tell the player that this version isn't supported and might cause issues and advise him to switch to an earlier version but going further than that will annoy the player than help him.
for ex: imagine if you have D3 and another game where D3 blocks 12.4 and the other game works best on 12.4)

posted a message on Total Support Monk Build
i don't know who you are going to play with, cause it can make a huge difference in what matters for your build
    for ex:
if you play with a melee class then you will use defence buffs, enemy damage debuff and heals
if you play with a ranged class then you need CC like slows and stuns, mobility and damage buffs (and probably build your monk a little more tankier)

posted a message on World PvP and Diablo
World PvP will cause balance problems as Mixing PvP and PvE will make it impossible to balance each side without effecting the other.
so IMHO world PvP will only bring harm for the PvE community and ruin the game for the majority.

on the other hand Arena PvP will offer a seperate place for PvP which allows them to balance skills without effecting the PvE version but it isn't just about balancing the game, Arena PvP make it easier to find matches with the auto match making system and it always puts you against someone at your skill level so it makes PvP always fun whatever your skill level.

still i think blizzard can do more with arenas like:
1-adding different game modes like (FFA, CTF, Horde, etc)
2-allow manual match making where you can choose who to play with and against (which makes 1v1 duels possible and playing uneven matches with sets like 1v4 or 2v3)
3-track stats for each person (for people who don't wanna show it, they can make hide stats as default)

we don't know what blizzard will do with arenas but hopefully they will add some of these ideas and they said they are open for suggestions.

bottom line, i find Arena PvP has more potential than world PvP and best of all it doesn't hurt the PvE community like World PvP does and even with the little info we know about Arena PvP i prefer it over World PvP.

posted a message on What are your thoughts on the voice acting?
why do people hate the male DH VA, i like how he sounds... not blown away but he is far from bad <_<
the only line that annoyed me was leorics "you will never defeat me" also "light is both literal and figurative foe of evil!" was annoying because i kept hearing it like every 20secs, maybe they should reduce the frequency of these little chats.

It's fine. Sometimes it's a little over the top (Templar) or cheesy (Skeleton King: "Yoou will never defeat meee!" As if every other villain in the world hasn't said that already). The Templar himself has kinda become a running joke with his crazy lines.

    JONDAAAAH.

The voice acting is bad.... BUT THE WILL OF THE TEMPLAR IS STRONGER!!!

But bad is both literal and figurative foe of voice acting!

posted a message on Way of the Hundred Fists: Q about "Hits"
i think they clearly say increase the number of HITS and the weapon says per HIT so i guess it should be +20, if it doesn't then they should change the description of the rune and the one for several sided strike

    Quote from greatmars

the highlight was playing the game eventhough i've midterm exams so the 30min breaks from study felt sooo satisfying and knowing that i've to do something with a time limit added a little bit of extra enjoyment (though i probably screwed up in one of the exams)
also when my friend asked me why i chose the female wizard and not the male (since he knows that i play only male) i said because of the pony tail physics :)

I was playing a wizard with my friend who was on a monk and he was constantly hitting behind me just to watch the pony tail move!! Tbh, it was pretty awesome :)
yeah, i really like how everything is dynamic and how your skills move/destroy the enviroment and in that case move hair :)
