While we haven't had any major news to work with since the Runestone System announcement, Force has gone ahead and posted a new video of his Purgatory series, covering the news from the last couple of weeks. If you need to quickly catch up (video is 4:42), this is the way to do it. This recent video covers the following topics:

D3 won't be moving to consoles on the same schedule it'll be on the PC. It's very possible we will see the PC version released by the end of the year, consoles on the other hand, have no light at the end of the tunnel just yet, if ever.
Plus the controls for d3 were made for keyboard and mouse, it will be weirder on ps3 to control your character. The pc players will be all elitist against the ps 3 players lol. I don't really care, they did D1 on the ps and I'll never buy it for the ps3 anyways.
Bigger audience equals more popularity! I'm sure that if Blizzard goes through with having Diablo 3 on consoles they will create a great practical system, to make it equal or just slighty worse than the PC gaming experience.
PS3 makes sense. Sony has been open to letting developers use their own internet platform before. (Portal 2 with Steam.) Microsoft on the other hand requires all developers to use Xbox Live for online play plus players have to pay a yearly fee to play online. My guess is a Diablo 3 for PS3 that includes both single and multiplayer and for Xbox with single player only. (Blizzard will not let another company (Microsoft) control their online system.)
I'm not too thrilled about having Blizzard adventuring to consoles overall. It usually has some kind of impact on the game, which can affect the game negatively. Often it just feels like they are developing with the consoles in mind rather than PCs because of their more "limited" hardware, if you will.
As for D3 I didn't think they would actually begin making a crossover to consoles this late in development. Yet, who says that haven't been working/preparing for it for a long time..
In short, I'm not convinced.
Exactly what he said ^^. This is the main concern I have, that it will effect game play. It's not really about being a PC exclusive. Sadly though of all the IP that blizzard own D3 is the game that makes sense to console. I will be in great RAGE if one of the reason why D3 is in development for a while is because of console (which I'm almost certainly not the case but we never really know).
And to give you guys an example how bad an action rpg can turn out in PC if console is in mind: Dungeon Siege 3. I played the demo and omg the controls, UI and game play shouts console! I'm having a hard time playing it on my PC. I was looking forward to this game (like any action rpg around) but now I guess I'll just buy it when I'm absolutely on a crave for some action rpg. Here's hoping torchligh 2 to be out before D3 beta.
On a different topic, to force and other cast of diablocast, I think the reason why people are more upset of the wallpaper deal even with sc2, wow had the same is because both games are already released while D3 isn't so there's more demand for new stuff from the community.

They said PS3 I feel for three reasons. You mentioned my first reason with the free multi-player aspect, battle.net is free, and it's free to go online via PSN. Second is hardware, The PS3 hardware can handle this game. If people think the 360's hardware is a match, who cares, see reason one. Only Diablo 3 fans are going to purchase this game. Newcomers will purchase it on PS3 for it's RPGness and the free PvP multiplayer they will get with it. Third reason, after tsunami-earth-quake-nuclear disaster, and network hack, this is what Sony will need to get back in competition. They make a deal with Blizz to get the soon-to-be best action RPG on the market, and Blizz gets another chance to test the platform market again! Final Fantasy went across 3 platforms 10 years ago on a sucky online lable. I'm sure Blizz can do it with their eyes closed! Do it Blizzard, you'll get two copies from me and one for everyone of my friends who can't play this game on their computer!
i know what I would do with two copies of Diablo 3... Two chicks at the same time! Demon Hunter and Wizard classes!! (ref. Office Space for the kids )
PS I just hooked up my Mac mouse via Bluetooth! Hmmmm, I wonder if my Mac Bluetooth keyboard works too! (my reason for edit)
Having a mouse and keyboard connected to a PS3 seems kinda silly and ruins the "console" feel of the system. Also why don't you just buy a better computer if your old one can't handle it. I'm sure you can get a better computer for less money than that of a PS3
Clearly thats not the case if you already own a PS3.
And the most likely reason they only have PS3 job listings on the site is because they're probably going to end up putting it on the PS3 and 360, but they, like most developers nowadays, are going to make it for the PS3 and bring it over to the 360. Apparently doing it the other way around is considerably more complicated.
I very much doubt D3 would end up being a PS3 exclusive considering Blizzard has never been a company that limits what platforms they release games on (just look at how long they've been putting games on Macs) and Activision rarely, if ever, releases PS3 exclusives.

Yeah, the 360 just uses a slightly modified Windows OS. They can pretty much directly compile their PC code into Xbox code using the devtools Microsoft gives them. PS3 on the other hand is different than any other system. The Cell processor has all different instructions than Intel processors, and developers have to spend a long time working with it to get good performance out of it.
Exactly. And once you get it working for the PS3 (as in get a good console control scheme, etc) then its even easier to get it on the 360. If they're going to have it on both platforms (which is probably what's going to happen) then they would start on the PS3, so a job posting for PS3 positions doesn't disqualify the 360 at all.

You can connect a keyboard & mouse too it.
