Blizzard Confirms New Product Next Month!
"It took a good day of calls and emails, but Blizzard just got back to us about the rumor floating around that Starcraft 2 will be announced next month during their World Wide Invitation in Seoul, South Korea.
According to a Korean website, StarCraft 2 is being developed in 3D with a new race and lots of changes for existing units. The site went on to say that additional details would be revealed during Blizzard's WWI on May 19th in Seoul.
When reached for comment today this was Blizzard's official response:
We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more. Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present.
So that's a yes on a StarCraft 2, eventually, and a yes to a product announcement next month. The only question now is are they one in the same. " -Brian Crecente, from Kotaku.
So what do you guys think? A lot of people still believe it's gonna be Starcraft (which would be fine too because, honestly, who wouldn't love to see that game revisited just as much as Diablo?) but after a statement like that, I'm thinking it's gonna either be an announcement for Diablo 3 or a completely new Blizzard title. If it's not a Diablo or Starcraft game, I'm putting my money on TacoCraft.
Alright, let the speculation begin! May 19th simply cannot come soon enough.

It's going to be WoW related
WoW will be getting another expansion(extremely likely)
WoW being ported to Xbox360
WoW having a graphical update
WoW is still growing, Blizzard will feed off it for a long time yet. Where Blizzard announces the product does not matter.
Move a long people, nothing to see here .
Yes Im aware if this...
A Domain, that Blizzard has created, specificaly for the Korean Fans to Key in on any disassociation with the American Fans, this is a branch Internet Domain, for that purpose.
A Sub Division would be another Blizzard Comapny Based outside of America. (in this case Korea)
Is there one of those? I have yet to discover one.
Let me know if someone can Link me to one, untill then there isn't.
ITS DIABLO 3!!!!!
it's been said before...
How the hell do you concoct that from what they said? Thirty days time is nothing in the gaming industry, they would say they don't plan to announce anything to do with SC2 but would magically announce it a month later?
Companies rarely say they aren't creating a product then just say SUPRISE! it's not professional, it's not smart.
It's not SC2, they made that clear. Stop delusionally disecting every word and just read what it says.
I still say it's Warcraft related.
Expansions qualify as a product, Blizzard called BC a new product. It's a new add on to a game, new product.
They made it obvious it's not SC2 and going against my initial post, they are announcing a new product in Seoul, a Warcraft/SC dominated country, it does make Diablo 3 unlikely.
It's mother fucking Warcraft, people are asking for a new expansion of WoW. WoW is just growing and growing, there's no reason to stop giving the customers what they want. It is going to be WoW related and that's fucking final! WoW's ride is hardly over.
btw, if you fail to notice that 19 May is future and not present you're not quite smart. Your point "its not Starcraft 2 cause of what they said" isnt valid. Think of it till u get it, it is so.
First of all, it's not going to be surprise in that sense, because a lot of people are expecting SC2.
Second, it's much more unprofessional to give away the surprise just two weeks prior to the announcement.
Blizzard would not have such a fuzz aobut a new expansion, especially not so soon after the first one came out.
You're the biggest fucking moron I've ever had the displeasure to interact with.
God your dumb, especially for your last little statement.
All these projects Blizzard claims can be dropped at any time, you have no idea what they are, Blizzard had many unnannounced projects over the years, they had several unannounced projects in 2000 and then would later announce only one unannounced, then another year a couple unannounced. There's no definitive answer as to whether SC2 and D3 are being created right now.
PhrozenDragon, you don't feel BC wasn't a big fuss? I remember it very well, fucking huge, almost as big as when WoW released.
stupid and ignorant. 2 words that could fully describe ur personality.
The Burning Crusade was just released. Most guilds arent done with the tier 4 content (if you know what it is, which i doubt). There's tier 5 in game atm and tier 6 coming with the next content patch (1-2 weeks max). Announcing an expansion wouldnt be that good media-wise since people in WoW (and interested in WoW) didnt have time to get done with things there. In fact, we could be busy for over a year with the current and upcoming content (patches hello). Diablo and Starcraft series have been neglected for years. Except some patches that we got occasionally theres nothing more. Yes, WoW is the current Blizzard money maker, but its not the only thing they've been working on.
What i was saying all the way and u were (and still are, apparently) not getting was that WE CANT BE SURE ABOUT ANYTHING. Blizzard will tell in time. The chances stand with Starcraft 2 though, or something related (It said "Strong connection with the Starcraft characters", nothing about Starcraft 2 or maybe another Starcraft title - science fiction rpg maybe?). Plus Blizzard likes to play with words. When they say "present" they mean the time of the interview. The Invitational is in the future, and by then we'll most likely get news.
learn to think before you type and try to insult people.
I think its going to be the new Superman game.. /yar

lol, you kinda owned me with this
but you have to give me at least some credit for trying
Too soon to release another expansion. They'd lose profit if they did it this soon. There is a reason you space these things out. There would be way too little buzz if they announced an expansion so soon after the first expansion was released. As Fingolfin said, most people haven't even finished the game. But if you want to bet on it, I'd love to take you on.
Besides, releasing way too much too soon would more likely kill the game, than improve it. Like the old saying goes, "Too much of anything is a bad thing", and World of Warcraft is no exception.
I hope you don't invest in the stock market, because you'd lose everything with the line of thinking that you have.
By that logic, you're denying that 30 days is not in the future. In which case, you're either not existing in the same dimension as us or you're just fucking stupid.
Man, where did you get your degree in business ethics? Oh wait, you don't have one of those do you.
No, they didn't make it obvious. You just assumed that on the basis that 30 days after their announcement is not in the future. You suck ass at reading comprehension.
You're right about one thing. Blizzard is going to milk it for all its worth. But flooding the market with WoW products is not the way to do it. They lose the possible profit they'd get from monthly fees. By prolonging the release of expansions would maintain customer loyalty and allow Blizzard to rake in the big bucks.
But don't get cocky. You made a step up the right path, then decided to go off-roading.
I'd have to say, those are the best points i've ever seen in my life.
xD
I'm sticking with the game being StarCraft related. Korea is the perfect place to do it, and of course Blizzard wouldn't tell us if it was StarCraft II at this point or not. What would be the point of the announcement be then?
It's hard to grasp, but I'm afraid to say that Diablo III's chance will be most likely at BlizzCon this year, along with the WoW expansion.
btw Mutton, love ur posts
Oh, and one other thing. By ending an arguement with your final stance being, your a fucking moron, you have just showed us that you did not have oxygen at birth.
