posted a message on Discussion: Are the devs out of touch?
    Quote from Bagstone
Again, Travis Day DID NOT SPEARHEAD loot 2.0. This has nothing to do with "fan glasses". In fact, many fans hailed Travis and said "Travis for D3 game director", "Travis is the only one who understands us" when he made the blue posts. Now you're saying "Travis is the one responsible for loot 2.0.". Both statements were/are completely wrong (there was also a CM post saying that Travis only communicated what was discussed internally much much earlier.)

Travis Day is not the one who single-handedly initiated and implemented loot 2.0.The entire Diablo dev team started working on the expansion early on. Just because Travis was the one who made a few blue posts that we on the outside saw as the first mentioning of loot 2.0 does not mean that it was his idea.

Name calling is not needed. What is needed is to understand how development works. Don't shoot the messenger. Don't shoot the individual worker. It's a development *team*. Every design decision in Diablo 3 is backed up by multiple people. Just stop saying "they're out of touch" or whatever.

Seriously, if your thinking would be that of the majority of people, we wouldn't have any communication with the developers anymore. You realize that developers are human beings and not some kind of Borg collective? You will always have a single person saying things, but no developer ever said "oh, I thought it would be cool to implement a weapon like this, so I went ahead and did it". It's always "we thought it would be cool to do X"; if they have an idea they throw it into one of the meetings and discuss it before implementing.

Besides, if *you* disagree with the current development direction, then that's your problem, but many people like where the game is going, and by saying "out of touch" you're implying that the game developers are making a game that you don't like. Many people do like it, however. "Get over it". Sorry.

posted a message on Patch 2.1 in a ‘Couple of Weeks’
    Quote from peacebg
Who cares?? Blizz suck at all, comprehend it finally, they don't care about they users and don't read their thousand ideas.
I say my name on the forum, they stop my chat permanently, then delete my threat...If you don't kiss their assess - you're not a good guy and you recieve penalties ;)
As i said (the thing that they hate it) they NEVER BE like good old Diablo 2 team (David Brevik,Stieg Hedlund.Erich Schaefer.Chase Clements,Max Schaefer.Eric Sexton).everything in D2 is making with love, nomatter pure balanced or just a little disbalanced items at all.

So think about that things if you want,my advice to you - Delete ALL launcher games,if you're sick blizz fan, just keep diablo 2,starcraft...it's fair enough.
I'm waiting for the PoE expansion (will release after 5 days) and start to play again. The game is total free, you may chat directly with developers, they're so kind! Chris (the big boss) is my friend of the start of the beta,we chat many times on mails and he never ask me "why you choose to play d3 instead of PoE" ,That make it a real good person at all,I realize my fail and now I'll start thinking and take a blue pill (matrix decision) and get out of the matrix finally!
I don't want anyone to reply me (don't know if i see that topic anymore)..just wanna change your mind to play a awesome truly free game,to recieve free updates for free & you know WHEN that update released! Are you bored enough to heard a "Soon™" ,or to test on some PTR server 2months+ for the future patch, but not all the data included there hah ?

P.s. That's not advert,it's just a true story!I was there,I know it's hard to believe and exit from there, but make it when you already have a chance ;)
I don't understand people who hate the game but spend the time to post on a fan site.

Getting back on topic, does anyone know the answer to the following two questions?

    1. What is the drop rate of Grift keys?
    2. Does the affix for the gems scale? For example, poison gem DOT scales with +poison affix.

That can't be true.. My monk doesn't shoot plains out of the sky.
I can't imagine how much it would suck to have a flat region of geography fall out of the sky from 35,000 feet.

I'm okay with this change. I'm not sure that I feel signature spells should be the main damage dealers. That's what AP spenders are for. That's just my opinion though.

posted a message on Is there any difference in the Uber portals?

    Reaper of Souls Infernal Machines

In Reaper of Souls players can make 4 different types of Infernal Machines, each of which produces a known Portal, making it possible to hunt each Demonic Organ specifically.

posted a message on When Rift if Foward becomes in-effective.
    Quote from Bagstone
I have to be honest that even after reading it twice I don't fully understand your idea, but it doesn't really matter:

The upcoming changes in 2.1 will make RiF pointless because in order to enter a rift you have to pay 1 rift key fragment, as simple as that. There's no way you can "take over" someone's rift, do rifts for free, or get rift guardian kills for free - or anything like that. In my opinion, it's the best change they can make and I like it, and it makes all those complicated "solutions" obsolete.
I couldn't agree more. The only reason RIF exists is because people spend as much (or more) time getting getting enough keys to enter a rift than they do in the rift. Reducing the cost to 1 key fixes this problem and makes solo rifting viable. However, people who still want to rift together get the added group bonuses but the cost per rift is still not a major barrier.

    This is a great change.

The number of people complaining about this game is getting almost as bad as WoW. This is what happens when entire generations of people get trophies for participation. It creates a culture of entitlement and it is starting to get ridiculous.

You aren't doing it right. You're supposed to balance a shoe on your head while you play for that first hour.
    Ruk,

Does that go on top of or under the tin foil hat?
