I didn't know that about the keywarden positions. That is a great addition to the game.

That is sort of what I was getting at with my statement. They aren't
using items as the carrot, they are using something else. If it is successful (which I'm sure it will be) then that will give them time to finish revamping all the current legs without value before they go back to making more season-exclusive items.

May be then I misunderstood your statement, sorry for that.

Still, for me, giving the stash tab only with seasons and no other way is a very small carrot compared to the size of the stick if you are not going to reach it in the season time.

Why not add more cosmetics instead? Like unlocking armour and weapons special transmogrifications and a pair of wings for the last chapter? That would probably incentivize more than the stash tab.
100% agree. I think the stash tab should be something that you earn in NS so you can take your time at the accomplishments. I would like many more cosmetic options for doing seasons. Green fire? Turn the zombie dogs into whymsyshire teddy bears? Possibilities could be endless.

posted a message on Paragon problem for long time Solo Players
    Quote from Tombosaurus»

The best option for non-season players I have read here might be to just start my own group and hope players will join regardless of my lower paragon level. So far I have gotten very little (to be honest, zero) success with this but I admit I have not invested a lot of time trying to set up group. My experience with this so far has been that people either ignore me or leave the instant they see my paragon level.

Why don't you start your own mid-tier paragon clan? You could do something like people between plvl 500-1000 can be members but they are kicked once they go over that. The members that go 1001+ could be invited to a sister clan for higher tiers so they can still play with friends that have helped them grow from the mid-tier clan. All you need is someone who is 1001+ to start the other clan and have a partnership with you for accepting folks.
Just make sure you are clear about the clan plvl cap so people don't get mad if they are informed that they will be removed.

posted a message on Console vs Custom PC

    PC or Console?
Answer: My peronsal opinion is PC. Not only can you use it for things outside of gaming, but games allow for more control and you can easily upgrade individual components as needed. I, personally, hate console gaming. I don't like the way the games play and I don't like spending so much money on something that I can't do other stuff with (video editing, e-learning, etc.).

Should I get that local pc?
Hell no. That's a major rip off.

Which processsor/graphics card should I get?
Most games now do not have the CPU as the bottleneck, though D3 leverages a decent chunk of the CPU. If you plan on doing anything like streaming, video encoding, etc., then I would still recommend a quad-core proc over 3GHz. However a good dual-core CPU will do fine for just gaming. Graphics cards depend on the resolution and quality that you want for the game. If you are doing 1080p and want the settings really high, then a GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 (slightly better #'s than the 960) will do the trick. If you are going beyond that resolution, then I would look into the GTX 970 or R9 390 (or 390X). 4K resolution will probably put you into the ~$600+ cards or SLI/Crossfire realm.

How much memory do I need for my graphics cards?
There have been a good number of benchmarks on this that show you don't get much improvement on 1080p past 2GB (4GB vs 2GB is about 1-3% improvement). If you are playing at a higher resolution, then go for a 4GB card (or higher for 4K).

    Should I get an SSD?

Yes. Even if you don't use it for your system drive, putting the games that require quick loading times or high I/O (calculations) on it will greatly improve the experience. Fallout4 and D3 are good examples of those.

    What can I get for 800AUD (~575USD)?
That will keep things tighter. Here is a good spec for that price point: http://www.gamersnexus.net/pc-builds/2164-budget-gaming-pc-build-for-fallout-4 The CPU is a dual-core but allows for hyper-threading. You don't get an SSD, but you won't be able to find a good one with decent storage unless you up your budget to allow for it. Also, if you decide to go Crossfire/SLI later, then I recommend you upgrade the power supply to give you more Amps on the 12V rails and put a buffer between your overall system usage and the 80% efficiency mark.

If you can save up to about 975AUD, then you can look at this build too: http://www.gamersnexus.net/pc-builds/2218-mid-range-gaming-pc-build-diy

None of these systems include monitors, keyboards, etc.

posted a message on Whatever the last patch did, It messed up my game somehow.

In case you don't know how to do what Midknite suggested.

    Windows

Ping: Hit Windows+R, type "cmd" then hit enter. Next type in "ping <whatever your target IP or domain is> -n 50" Doing this will help see if there is any packet loss between your system and the target.

Traceroute: In the cmd prompt mentioned above, type in "tracert <your target IP or domain>" This will help you identify if there are issues in the network path to your target.

    Mac

Ping: Open the Network Utility (Applications --> Utilities), click Ping, put in the IP or domain that is your target, click Ping.

Traceroute: Open the Network Utility (Applications --> Utilities), click Traceroute, put in the IP or domain that is your target, click Trace.

Only problem from following Quin is if he missed something during testing like static charge monk. And even then his personality makes him so enthousiastic and view hungry that he will make a video about it. Which cost us 5 mins time, instead of hours and hours of testing.

I have total respect for theorycrafters, but usely it ends up the same way for those guys, they make something amazing. And the one who copies it gets the credit for it. I would be amazed if someone even know the name of the chinese guy who made that epic discovery.

People like Quin also use it as a way to boost viewership to their stream, which is a source of income for them. You can think of theorycrafting as R&D time for them on things that will help them make content and go up the leaderboards. Those things (and personality) are the things that attract people to subscribe to his stream.
I agree that it would be nice to know the name of the person who first discovers on those new kinds of builds. That might encourage more people to do theorycrafting.

I've never personally played a game that has given me more milage than D3, so for all its failings, I have to give the dev team kudos for their continued efforts to upgrade it and keep it interesting to play. Patch after patch, and I've not paid a single cent apart from my initial purchase.

This game has had a really good longevity with the way that they continue to implement new items /features into the game. WoW did a good job too, but I don't have to pay a monthly rate for this game and I still feel like there are a million things I have not done yet.
There are a few things that I would like to see further improved (ex. solo play), but the game is light years better from where it started and I appreciate the effort that they are putting into making it great.

posted a message on Lvl 50 Gem Effect Ideas

I think that adding a lv 50 effect is good. I would like to see the gems be more balanced though. I think all legendary gems should have 1 DPS benefit, 1 survival benefit, and 1 improves a secondary stat. On that note, I would like to see more legendaries that incorporate the use of secondary stats to help change the nature of end game builds.
