Why would anyone be against this? Sure you CAN do Grifts, but why can't you have both? A regular farming level that challenges you but doesn't require a lot of time investment to get trial keys is a detriment to no one.

They really missed the boat on this thing. It will be fun for a couple toy builds, but it's not going to be competitive. If they want to move away from single element focus, they should have done something like "an enemy damaged by an element type will take x% more damage from each other type of damage it takes" so that if you are using something like frost nova, while in an apoc blizzard, and shooting arcane beam at it, then it's taking a bunch more damage than it normally would. Having a stupid 5 second window where you can only cast one spell is ridiculous.

    Quote from TryHardEnmity»

Bosses are another story, generally they can take a long time. Try to save Pylons for bosses if they're near-by and accessible of where the boss spawns, sometimes kite off screen a bit to search for one if you know you're not going to make the timer.

There was a story that broke yesterday where someone revealed that pylons spawn dynamically now based on percent of grift completed or location (speed pylons at the end of a long dead end for example). So moving further into the rift once you spawn the boss *should* never reveal another pylon. I haven't tested this theory though. What some people are doing are scouting a whole level when you know it's going to reveal the rift boss, then get to 99% on that level, then go to the next level. There should be a pylon waiting for you right there. This is something I expect Bliz will fix sooner rather than later, but might as well take advantage of it while it's there.

**I don't have any personal experience with this, it's just what I read and it seems to be right**

posted a message on (Seasons) Do you 'Slow Roll' your GR's early on, or speed clear to your max?

This is the best way to gear up early on imo. Lots of easy blood shards and you have a chance at torment legendaries before you can get to torment. As silvach mentioned, this is hands down the best way to get all of your gems too. Even now that I have a decent set up, I still generally hit an 11, then a 20, then a 28 if I'm going for a 28. The extra blood shards and only using one keystone for three rifts is nice, and it usually only takes about 5-6 mins to run both the 11 and the 20.

There are no speed breakpoints anymore, the IAS is considered in the damage that the sentries do, but they fire when you do.

I did some extensive mapping of keywarden locations back when hellfire rings first came out and they are extremely random as Bagstone indicated. There are clans you can join now so you can do split runs, which is very nice. If you're going solo, I find sometimes it's best just to make a quick sweep through certain areas like act 3 and if you don't find him by the end, just remake your game. It's faster to run act 3 twice than it is to go back and search each offshoot. Act 2 keywarden tends to appear on the top or right of the oasis more often than not, but that could just be RNG. I did about 100 locations in A2 and he showed up in the lower left area only 5 times.

They really need to add the keywarden to the minimap like they did goblins. In acts 1 and 2, the keywarden moves around so it's entirely possible for you to flip through an area and then for him to move in to an area you've already searched.

    Quote from Selador84
Perhaps I cannot speak for others, although its a semi safe assumption, but the legendary drop rates are higher after the guardian than beforehand. So if you're truly seeking legendary items, then finishing the entire rift is the way to go. Playing the game to get blood shards and gambling is much less rewarding than actually finding them anyways.
Legendary drop rates are consistent throughout rifts.

^ you need some RNG explaination.

I'm not going to give it to you, but suffice it to say that your chances of finding a Legendary are exactly the same before and after the rift guardian. If you're only interested in Legs/Rift shard then you should finish off the entire rift, but if you're looking for the most legs/time spent in the game like most people are, then you should close asap after the rift guardian and start another rift. The extra legs from blood shards will more than make up for the 20-25 seconds spend closing the rift. If you're really concerned about those seconds, then send one person back to close the rift while the rest of the group keeps going.

RIGHT NOW I see a lot of people saying it's best to finish a rift because rifts are the only place where goblin packs can happen, and we're on double goblins, however, again, if you spend 20 mins finishing a rift or 20 mins rifting to RG, closing, starting a new rift, you should see the same amount of goblins because you're rifting for 20 mins either way.

Honestly I think the only people that want to do full clears are people who really don't understand RNG or people who got absurdly lucky with their RORG early and don't have thousands of rift shards like the rest of us.

posted a message on Old Retooled Legs Like Gungdo Gear Patch 2.1.2- Season only?
I can't find the quote from Bliz right now, but I was under the impression that these retooled existing legendaries would be seasonal only for s2. If you look at the season preview, the Gungdo Gear is in the picture for the season only preview, so I'd be really surprised if they were patch upgrades and not season upgrades.

To be honest, they are new items where it counts. They could have just renamed Gungdo Gear to something else and you wouldn't be complaining that it wasn't a new item, so does the name really matter?

Barb was very fun in season 1, I hope the Raekor's changes make them more viable. They lacked a LOT on the high end in season 1. I'm guessing the density fixes will help a lot.

As far as M6 is concerned, I like and dislike the changes. Sure, it's good to get away from the drop and hide type of play style for someone who's really interested in the game, but I play with a lot of (filty) casuals and it's nice for them to be able to jump into a t6 viable build that doesn't require a dissertation to explain gearing and playstyles.

Monks look like they might be worth looking into again. They don't seem to be well set up for T6 now outside of a zdps support build for a group. The Gungdo Gear looks interesting.

you're right, Condemn is only really good on season, but if you're starting a new guy, then you might as well start season. You have access to more items and it's all going to roll over to non-season in a month anyway.

PS, I didn't say crusaders were better, but I do think they are more fun, and I've spent a LOT of time playing both. Obviously that's subjective and I won't get into a semantics argument with you ;)

Season 1 I jumped on the new Crusader Condemn build, but ended up going with Stampede build for Hardcore. Softcore side I mostly stuck with M6 DH (Krelm's belt is awesome!)

I'm having a rough time deciding what to do for season 2. It looks like DH is still doing ok even with the M6 changes, but none of the season legendaries struck me as very interesting. Can anyone who's spent some time on PTR doing season 2 give me a TL;DR on what's exciting for next season?

"work just fine" is a good way of saying you *can* struggle along on T6 in a good group ;) In terms of cake-walking through T6 though, there really is only one top tier wiz build. Crusader has at least two (Condemn, Stampede) that can both faceroll T6 and they are very different play styles which is nice if you want to switch it up. Yeah, when it comes down to it, they are both just Akkarat's with lots of CDR, but the fact that you don't have to find an entirely new set to swap between the two is nice. Also, permanent horsey is amazing for bounties and key hunting. I can do A1 bounty sets in less than ten mins.
