never prioritize dps with cm, always with functionality (cc/aspd) and survivability (ar/armor/vit/movement speed/life on hit) (800+/4k+/45k+/24 or 12 if you know what you're doing/900+, 1k and beyond is better imo)
high chunk of wizard expenses comes from not focusing on one thing, ehp or edps but rather balancing both. that's the real money spender.
You guys are playing to lose. Farming speed overall with a much higher DPS will far offset the amount of times you die. Look at my profile if you don't believe me, I run 600/4k/40k just fine.
*ESPECIALLY* with the new MP system you are just playing to lose if you don't maximize your DPS and then pick the MP where you're able to survive large hits.
You might try running it in Windows XP compatibility mode and if that fails, VirtualBox is a free virtual machine client available that will allow you to run a full virtual Win xp machine on your computer.
I have been able to get D2 with all of the expansions working on my Windows 7 machine, so I know it can be done.
Alright I'm not quite sure whether you're serious.. Could it be that you're around 200 all resist? Along with 30k HP? Is that even enough to survive an elite pack on MP0 (where CMWW is the wrong build anyway)? So in short, I would upgrade any 5-8 armor slots you wish by getting all resist and vit without losing too much of everything else. Cheap, too! ^^
Do you even play CMWW? You really don't need that much AR or armor. I run mp10 with NO problems on 4k armor, 600 RA, and 40k hp. My loh is only 955 and this guy's is well over 1000. Not to mention that you can't upgrade ANY of those pieces with 60 AR for "Cheap" without a big dps hit. Oh, and his AR should be just under 400. IF he was having problems surviving he'd be using Energy Armor instead of Storm Armor.
Not to be rude to you, and I appreciate the fact that you TRIED to help, but please don't if you don't know what you're talking about. Your help can cost someone some money when they are moving in the wrong direction.

That said, I really don't think you're (OP) going to be able to do much from here with a budget of 50M other than shuffle stuff around. I think you're gonna have to start transitioning into the more expensive gear like a Mempo and looking to increase your a/s. From what I can see you are about 2.55 attacks/sec which is a little slow honestly. You want to be over 1.7 to hit the next break point for WW. If you're willing to lose a little Vit on your gloves you can pick up 8 IAS for about 30M (us servers).
-edit- Loroese already gave you everything you could want and then some so I'm gonna stop typing now lol
You guys all need to play hard core NO WAIT, COME BACK hear me out
I love softcore Diablo, don't get me wrong. If you look at my profile you'll see that's where I spend the vast majority of my time and it's for pretty much the same reasons as everyone else here has listed (I love facerolling mp10 with a group, etc) but Hard Core is really where the longevity of this game is for me. There really is nothing like the rush you get when you're sitting back, relaxing in your chair, farming through a map when all of the sudden an elite group comes up with some interesting affix combinations, and then, oh crap, there's another group of elites and then all the sudden you're up out of your chair, face close to the screen, adrenaline pumping, because, oh shit, you're about to die if you make a false move. I *Strongly* encourage you to just try it for a while and see if it doesn't just get you excited again about playing diablo. It really is a unique aspect of video gaming where these days everything has gotten so easy and it's all just about keeping you playing longer. The concept of bam, everything not in your stash is permanently wiped really makes it interesting.
TWO NOTES:
Don't tell me about your network connectivity issues. Every single person I've talked to has tried to get to play hc throws that excuse at me and you know how many friends I know have lost HC characters to lag? 0. You know what you do when your connection gets bad? Farm an area you won't die in or go play SC until your connection gets better.
You will die. You will. I've seen guys at 100k HP (Real HP, not EHP) 900 RA, 8k armor die on MP2, it just happens. Just like anything else, don't put all your eggs in one basket and be prepared. Don't get mad about it, just move on and make another character. I have two tabs in my stash devoted to nothing but leveling new characters and it makes it real easy. Every 2 levels or so, I just run to the stash and grab the next item in line and my characters are always face rolling through 0-60.
WW Barb - Act 1 mob clearing (skip elites) on mp10. No question. MP10 gives you the best MF/GF bonus and the free bonus items. Kill mobs as quick as you can and pick up all the yellows to sell. Skip the elites unless you're really geared well and can kill them quickly. Only do the high density areas with easy to kill mobs like Hollows and Fields. Just repeat those two areas. Sure you can clear the whole act in 45 mins, but the other areas are less dense and thus less rewarding. Doing 45 mins of repeated Hollows/Fields runs will loot you way more than a full clear.
SSD and USB3 drives aren't that expensive anymore. You can get a 32GB SSD for about $40. Before I plunged into the full OS/SSD only world I had a small SSD drive that I would just install the game I was currently playing to. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes.
^ that's a good point, I didn't think about those other spells breaking your firebats channel. Do you really need to use ALL of the WD abilities? Can you maybe break it down so that you just fire bats on the ww button? I'm only familiar with WDs from high level friends I play with, so I probably won't be any more help on the actual skills.
Everyone has some good advice here, I just wanted to second a couple of them:
Most efficient way to farm is to kill white trash at the MP where you can "one hit" or kill them quickly and skip elites entirely.
CM Wiz is probably the cheapest to do MP10 because with the freeze you can pretty much ignore EHP past a certain point and your DPS doesn't matter since you have them frozen the entire time anyway. It might not be fast or efficient, but see the above point.
If you are going for the cheapest build to farm efficiently (mp2-3) I would say WW barb. If you have some decent LOH/LS and can survive a tough one-hit then the tornadoes and movement speed should keep you out of harms way and the equipment for this stuff is ridiculously cheap.
Assign the skill slot you have assigned to firebats to a different key and just hold that down while you're doing your CM rotation. For example on my setup I spam 2,3,4 for EB, DS, and (the freeze spell). Change the "4" slot key on your setup on the WD accounts to something like "A" so that you can hold down A and spam 2,3,4 and then when you press 4 it just won't do anything on the WD accounts. Just make sure you don't have the "A" key bound to anything on the CM account. Firebats really is the way to go for best sustained DPS.
Im not even going to explain to you, go back to the post and read it through. You dont have to agree with it, but atleast read it all instead of reading bits and bits and taking assumptions like this
This comes off a little unproductively, which I think is what they are referring to as an "attack." I have to agree; that was my first thought too.
Anyway, I think the point of loot 2.0 is to diversify unique abilities, not just add abilities. I'm assuming you aren't very far along in your character because where I'm sitting, Trifecta equipment is already worthless to me. Items with CC/CD/IAS also need base stat+ vit or AR. It's not uncommon to see some of my piers with all six. From my interpretation of loot 2.0 the choice will be something akin to the SoJ choice (ring that doesn't have trifecta stats, but does massive dmg to elites). If a LOT of the equipment had more choices like that where this isn't an easy to calculate clear cut answer, then I think things will be better off.
