Sep 30, 2012achan1058@hotmail.com posted a message on Interviews with Mike Morhaime and Rob Pardo, Wizard Guide, and Curse SurveyPersonally, I hope they learned that fan's opinion isn't always to be trusted, especially when it's pre-launch. I remembered the number of calls and whines about how D3 would be too easy, for casuals, etc. I also remembered the devs answer, the famous "and then we doubled it", only to half the damage in 1.0.4.Posted in: News

That's actually a genius idea. Simple, elegant.Quote from bigamie

Every class has some sort of resistance buff right? Barb it's war cry and it's being nerfed. OWE is the monk one and it has to be nerfed as well. Only problem is it ties into gear choices where as war cry doesn't.
So it's gotta be nerfed to be fair. My guess it that they will make it not double stack anymore. Meaning if you have a single resist and a resist all, you wont be able to add them together. It will pick the larger of the two and ignore the smaller value. That's the only way I can see it nerfed without hurting current gear choices.
Nope, in that case all the gear with double resists becomes useless to monks. I think they will leave the mechanic as it is but add a tradeoff to the passive. Maybe reduce overall resists by a percentage (e.g. 10% less resists). That way the passive would be less effective but still lets you keep the same gear.

I really wonder what the SC2 folks think, when balance changes were actually handed out, some rather big ones too back in the old days.Quote from phatosen
No, Blizzard clearly broke your heart. You should punish them, and quit now.
Seriously man, if you want to quit the game because of a class/skill nerf, you're playing for the wrong reasons.

We just didn't know that they are going to nerf it this hard. I was thinking of a 2x-3x nerf, which would have been more reasonable IMO.Posted in: News

It was legitimate, more legitimate than faking injury is legitimate in football/soccer. If not, It's obviously not intended, but that does not make it invalid.
And yes, Blizzard is rather...... slow on the subject. This was known during the PTR.

You know, anecdotal evidence doesn't help anything. Try cataloguing 100 legendaries or something. Or maybe even cataloguing rares. If they changed smart loot into dumb loot by accident, it would be immediately obvious with a moderately large sample.

If they don't think there is a "chance of glory", when why are certain people decrying over others who got that chance? Just let them "exploit" whatever there is to be exploited, and leave them be. Just to be clear, I did not race for the leader board, since I simply don't have the time nor dedication to do so.

There is no point with this debate. We went through the same argument several months before, and the conclusion is that real competitive players have a rather different standards than "competitive" players who sets up arbitrary rules and call anyone who don't follow those imaginary rules to be cheating. As in any competitive (e-)sport, anything tournament legal is not cheating. Blizzard obviously found things people called "exploits" legal, so it is not cheating, end of story.
P.S. Even if Blizzard fixed all those "exploits", none of you here who call others cheating will have any shot at the leader board what-so-ever. Serious runner will simply find other efficient methods. Your mentality prevents you from doing the same, and goes with it your chance of glory. I know it sounds harsh, but that's the reality.

I thought they made Torchlight.

I hate this forum. It appears to have once again ate my post.
Define 100% legit. I presume that the top players aren't botting or hacking, so I don't see what is not legit about it. If they are, report them to Blizzard. Finding the most efficient exp route and farming it is just as legit as clearing every single area of the game. In fact, Blizzard is known for endorsing non game-breaking "exploits", such as drone drilling. Just look at the amount of "bugs" and "features" that were implemented in StarCraft 2 from StarCraft 1. Besides, finding the most efficient farming routes is a hell lot more legit then having "injuries" in soccer/football games, and those people have yet to be banned from playing. (sadly)

I do think they should have made you start completely from scratch for a new season. It feels odd to have 95% of the things reset, and the last 5% not.
P.S. They screwed up on the stash as well. Currently, I have 4 open tabs already unlocked. This happened on season 1 of PTR, but not season 2, where I need to unlock all stash tab from scratch. I presume it is a bug that was improperly fixed on live.

Instead of writing "appoligies to anyone i maybe offended ;)", how about work a little bit on not offending people? I am pretty sure that's what the mod is referring to when he took issues with your post. We can't infer whether you have the credentials/experiences you claim you have, but we can all infer that your post have done nothing to help resolving the issue on why shouldn't Blizzard spend more on security.

FBI still haven't caught them yet? I am disappointed.

I agree. Poster should be banned for posting personal info. If you think it is genuine, give it to the FBI. They are now involved due to bomb threats made by the group, and would probably be happy to get more leads to arrest those guys.

Indeed. Personally I don't understand why some people make videos for anything and everything. While there are things where a picture is worth a thousand words, such as the precise position of an achievement spawn, there are many others where text is a more effective medium. Often times I clicked on a video describing something that if it was in text, I could have read it in a quarter of the time needed to watch the video.

So I was just doing a greater rift on PTR, and failed it at something like 95%. The Rakanoth rift guardian spawned, and I killed it. Just as I was going to pick up the loot, the Butcher rift guardian spawned on me and killed me. Eventually I killed it, though it didn't drop any extra loot. Anyone else have that happening, or the bug where multiple rift guardians spawn at the same time? One video on Twitch had 4 guardians at the same time. Blizzard is aware of this issue, but it's funny to see all the same unless you are playing HC.
Perhaps they should make a boss rush like the uber fights, where all you fight is rift guardians, from 1 to 1/2 dozen at the same time.

Given that achievements are reset on ladder per season, there is probably going to be a ladder board on it.
I would go with custom transmogs that are unavailable anywhere else.

I think they also reduced monster damage by half somewhere there as well, which as a big plus.

I skimmed the video, and I can't tell the difference between it and normal Whimsyshire......
