    Quote from Jadefox

Many of your opinions are mostly based on your ideal build... and thus don't take into consideration on how strong other skill/rune combinations could very well be quite effective.

And in all reality calling yourself an expert isn't probably the smartest thing to do, maybe saying you've studied the class thoroughly would be more accurate :)

That is a very distinct possibility. I tried to look at it from a buildless perspective, but I am sure bias leaked in based on my preferred ideal of how a WD should be played.

I will be honest, I put the "expert" thing in just to piss off the kiddies.
I find it makes for a better conversation when I can easily identify where everyone is coming from.

Then again, without playing the game, I am probably as close to an expert as you can get I think.

posted a message on Why does everyone say wizards dps sucks?
All classes are balanced to do inferno, not to have the same strengths and weaknesses.

Wizards strength is CC. Slows, Stuns, and mobility. Weakness: Terrible single target dmg, and mediocre AoE.
DHs strength is Slows, mobility, and Dmg. Weakness: No passive Dmg reduction
    etc....

If the Wizard had the DPS of the DH, then you might as well delete the DH from the game, as she wouldn't be able to compete at all.

I love the new Wiz btw. Her DPS ownz on multiple foes at once with her aoe spells.

    I LOOOOVE AOE :)

Too bad the wizard isn't good at it.
She is good at AoE in the same way as a junk yard is like a car dealership.

I think pierce is really crappy unless you have an odd build that relies on one of the primary skills for the main source of damage.

I disagree, I think with the right build and perhaps supplementary items you could get some use out of it.
Sacrifice - Pride for instance can restore your entire mana bar np.
Vision quest would seem to yield and absurd amount of mana if you can keep 4 skills on CD. (especially if it includes mana regen affixes, which are listed as +14 man atm.)

There is also a Hit mana = 12.
    Max Mana of +150

The health gained by blood ritual is at lest partially consumed by the health loss component. Its really only worth looking at the 15% mana reduction imo.

True... I guess I didn't fully state my thoughts there, lol. It's only good if you're mana capped (have more mana than you can spend).

You'll be spending 30% more mana if you use pierce which means you will cast 30% less spells but the spells will do 20% more damage. Seems like a crappy deal to me... at the cost of one of your passive slots even.

There is of course, the benefit of doing more upfront damage. If you want to have a burst damage build, pierce is for you. However, realize that you will be giving up a lot of long term dps. It's a bit of a trap passive imo. It sounds good at first look but if you sit down and think about the tradeoffs... it's really not worth it unless your build is made with it in mind (no mana skills, low mana skills).

Just like you said, if you can front load and kill everything in front of you fairly easily then its quite good, as you never have to worry about long term scenarios.

The way that I look at pierce is that its going to be good for norm, nightmare, maybe hell, crap for entry inferno, and then make a comeback when you farm inferno.

It would take the right build, and the right gear to pull off. Especially if the boss fights take a LONG LONG time as predicted in inefrnol.

    Max +AP on Crit = +10
3 wizard items = +30 AP on crit (MAX)

So at that point it depends on how much crit you can get, and getting a cheap spell you can spam for a net gain on the average. Slow weapons would also have an advantage. as they allow you to regen more AP per cast.

Which character would you predict to have the most trouble solo'ing inferno?
Assuming completely equal gear and skill.

Imo, it's clearly the DH who lacks passive dmg reduction and reliable CC.
Demon Hunter, you are the weakest link....Goodbye!
