Crusader can wield two-handed weapons in one hand, while using his shield in the offhand.
    Awesome!

Oh yeah...I forgot. Aside form the Act, the class, the mystic, we also have 10 additional character levels and with it new skills with their corresponding runes for the expansion.

I hope there's more than that though. The free patch (Loot 2.0, Paragon 2.0, Nephalem Trials, Loot runs) looks really great so the expansion needs to bring something more than that unless the expansion is really light and costs 25% of the vanilla like phatosen said, I mean D2:LoD had the runewords which broken as they are, changed D2 forever.

Blizzard will definitely announce more expansion content at Blizzcon. That's the place for which you save the juiciest info.
Josh stated that they picked only a few topics to talk about at Gamescom, and that there's a lot more to the expansion. Also, whoever thinks the game will cost less than 40$ is quite delusional. xD

Does anyone else love how delightlfully awkward Josh is? It may have been nerves, but he seemed so unpolished and all over the place. I get the vibe that he is a fan just like the rest of us and was geeking out during the whole thing too. It was refreshing and made me feel like the game is in the right hands now.

The game is in the right hands. Whoever made the call to let Jay go and bring Josh in did both the company and the community a big favor.

This end game aspect is the most intriguing to me of all the systems introduced. I truly hope the devs let their imaginations run wild on this idea and they present us with something far more impactful and dynamic than the Uber event, which fell a little flat.

I can't agree more. D3 is in dire need of complexity, and systems that will appease to a somewhat hardcore type of player for a prolonged period of time. These Nephalem Trials certainly seem like a place where you can go completely off the rails and use your imagination to craft a meaningful and rewarding experience.

His charity thing is very legit and he's the number 1 donating streamer. He won a few hundred thousand, I believe, on poker and from what I remember donated everything, not 100% sure anymore. He also does science research and so on. Also spends the majority of his time theorycrafting so that he can then troll masterfully. To truly troll you first have to know something to perfection and he is the king of it.

Very well said. I only followed him when he came to fame in the early days of WoW, and behind all that trolling and silliness he was always a really serious gamer and an amazing professional. That interview was great.

Maybe so... but if blizzard was smart they would refresh existing areas to make me actually WANT to start new characters and play through non end game.

Well, they seem to be adding Nephalem Valor to lower levels, so leveling will definitely feel more rewarding, especially with the Loot 2.0. Plus, with Paragon Levels now being account wide, you will probably be able to put a ton of stats into +experience and quickly move to end game.

Can't really see them revamping vanilla acts in any significant way.

    Nice catch, Edriel!
Loved your ideas, so it's great to see something similar being implemented into the game. The more randomness to the world the better.

I know some of you will hate me for this, but (as some of you might now by now) I really consider every minute of development time on PvP a waste. PvE >>> PvP for me.

However, I'm pretty sure you'll all be happy (and I'll be mad) at Blizzcon. I think the "Nephalem Trials" mentioned on the official RoS page sounds very much like PvP.
to me Neph Trials sounds more like a LAdder, or an endless dungeon they've been looking into. Trials seems to make me think you'll go through waves or levels of an endless dungeon and there will be a leaderboard as to whose gone farthest, shortest times, most gold earned, best item found, y'know something a bit more competitive but not PvP like.

Yeah, Trials are definitely going to be an end game PvE system.

No need to worry, Bagstone :D

    Josh > Jay

    Josh seems to "get it".

    Pretty much obvious by now.

On topic, hell yeah I want to see PvP, in whatever form they decide to bring it to us. Doesn't have to be too glamorous or anything, but I hope they will balance it so it requires skill and time to master. Really hoping they share some news about this at Blizzcon.

I think they want to push this stuff out as soon as possible to get past these tough times. I'm expecting May/June release with beta beginning after Blizzcon presentation.

Exactly. They're adding one act and one class, and they've been working on this for quite some time now. I would be shocked if we waited longer than May for the release.

They are. Icons are one of the last things they implement before the release.

    7-8 months seems more likely.

White items will now be a crafting agent.

That's some great stuff. Loot Runs seem really awesome, with quite a high replayability value. A couple of more end-game solutions and RoS will be a time devouring beast.

We've heard about a hundred times now that D3 is not meant to become any competitive, e-sports like game, so if you're waiting for that, please move on. I got what I wanted; self-found would've been nice but seriously, just because I got only 9 out of 10 things from my x-mas wish list, I'm not gonna kill Santa.

Except not everyone's x-mas list is the same.
I can bet you there's a lot of people out there that are waiting for more than a loot/power reset to get them to buy the expansion and invest a large amount of hours into it.
Blizzard never ruled out the ladder, nor have they claimed that there will never be a competitive side to D3. E-sports is not the only way to keep the community thriving, and I'm hoping that they will be addressing this at Blizzcon, with more details about the end game content that they have planned for us.

With that being said, new Paragon changes are awesome! There seems to be more than one way to customize your stats and character with it. Really a great and welcome addition.

Paladin was one of my favorite classes in D2, and I love to play a shield wielding character, so win-win with the Crusader. I hoped for the Druid but he would simply not fit the tone of the expansion. The dark, gothic atmosphere returns to Diablo, and that's a big, big plus.

Also, this new, seamless transition between areas that they've shown is quite great. I'm still hoping that we will see the quest system redesign, with actual rewards, meaningful random quests and other cool stuff. If they announce a couple more interesting features like a no story mode and porting through the acts the game will sure be worth the 40$.
