Blizzard is a professional game design company, and they know what makes good games. They do know better than their average customers when it comes to game design. Listening to ideas from the community is great, but they do better ignoring most of it and making a good game their way.

This. This is why it was terrible in D2, and this is why I like what they're doing with it in D3; they're thinking about it from an early stage and planning it in a way that will be fun, rather than tacking on a broken system that hurt more than it helped.

The problem I have with this is that you don't even know how much damage the wizard does RIGHT NOW. The beta does not reflect their internal builds, and they don't make any particular effort to have things at all balanced for the released beta builds. The only information you have is that at some point, for some reason, someone at Blizzard wanted to know what the Wizard would be like at the damage levels you're seeing. Basing a whole "sky is falling" reaction with no real foundation to stand on just seems like a waste of time.

I think it's good to get this stuff out in the open. I'd prefer to be educated on what the signs are of people around me cheating so I can make reasonable decisions on what to report. Pulling a blanket over the whole thing only helps the people abusing the system.

Quit trolling, and show what the stats of any of the spells mentioned are going to be at release. Oh wait, you can't!
