I beg to differ, traveling to the past has been a blast for me thus far!

Do you want to hear it if you think that Diablo 3 is really a pretty bad game? Because I believe it is. I always knew that Blizzard would some day iterate themselves into a lousy game I just never thought it would be in a Diablo game
Almost every decision that was made for this game was the exact opposite of what they should do. It is just an isometric Borderlands which will be fine for a lot of people but is the opposite of what I think it should be. Quite honestly, I think Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, even W.A.R.maybe will all be better games than D3.
Blizzard has just lost their way as Activision exerts more and more control over their decisions.
Just play the game, you'll see it's gonna be good. I'm also looking forward to Grim Dawn and TL2 the most after D3. And prease shed some right on why you say Activision control Blizz decisions.

I bought a new weapon with a greater base attacks per second than my previous weapon AND it had +11% IAS, and for some reason my attacks per second are messed up.
The attacks per second in the "Details" tab, fluctuates between 1.62 and 2.09 while attacking. It changes after every hit. Ex. So out of the 3 hits (1 cycle) of Fists of Thunder (FoT) (and vica versa):
- Hit 1 of 3 = 1.62
- Hit 2 of 3 = 2.09
- Hit 3 of 3 = 1.62
And it will stay at either 1.62 or 2.09 if i stop attacking.
I've also "counted", actually more like hearing the rhythm of 3 successive FoT hits with both old and new weapons, and it takes almost exactly the same time to complete the 3 hit cycle. With the new weapon it might be a bit faster but definitely not as fast as 2.09 attacks per second.
The problem might lay with my understanding of IAS/attacks per second, or something is actually wrong. Sorry for all the screenshots, but it explains it a lot better.
Old weapon:
Old weapon Attacks per second:
New weapon:
New weapon Attacks per second while standing still after 1 hit (1.62 or 2.09):
Fluctuations between 1.62 - 2.09 while attacking:
So any idea why this is happening?
Thanks!
Edit: My bad, figured it out, both my old weapons had the same base AS and with the new one with an higher AS it fluctuates between the 2 weapons. Noob error sorry.

Random: Any EU players gets these mini lags while playing? It's like the animation is in front of the sound/game, so when I run away i get a mini rubberband (like 3-5 diablo yards) almost in every fight. Super annoying when fighting a frost Elite. "Hey I'm out of the frost, lets stand here and wait for it to explode. O hey come back over here in the frost just before it explodes would you?" Then I usually die when I don't have Rend-ed the Elites before.
Back to my original point. Played with my barb on MP5 (thus 50% chance to get the key) to get the Act 1 key. I did 7 runs without a key and on this 7th run, just before fighing the warden, my game broke. Well my barb got stuck and couldn't move and also couldn't die. Couldn't do any skills. Is this known bug? Cause it had happened at least 5 times whilst just playing with my barb.
Anyway on the 8th run I got the key.
So if my math is correct:
0.5^6 = 1.5625% chance of happening
Or if you want to include that bug:
0.5^7 = 0.78125% chance of happening
Also didn't get 1 legendary that day.
Tell me more!

Dunno if you remember the time Blizz designers answered questions the reddit community asked, but they said they're gonna have some tech restrictions that make it unfeasible for us to do this. And this was 5 months ago, they also said they try and solve this in the future. But this was just for normal dyes, not exotic like you suggested. Since some people has mostly legendary items equipped the look like clowns, even just ordinary dye will suffice!
Some also suggested vanity slots for each piece of gear, which customize the item but no any stats (obviously).
Another thing that will be cool is if you get a special effect on your character when you have a full set of Set Items equipped. Similar to the Witch Doctor's poison cloud he/she gets around him/her from that one set mojo.
So my answer is no to exotic dyes for now but hopefully yes for normal dyes!

So if I understand correctly, should my main hand have the lifesteal AND high dps? And how exactly does the main- off-hand thing work. Thanks.

That's my Monk. They can dual-wield, use 2hander, shield+1hander, but just not bows or other class specific weapons. If you think that's a cool mace, go check my barb's weapon. Lol there's weapons with 1400+ dps in the game, but getting a good enough one with that kind of dps is hard; most I get has shitty affixes. It's sometimes better having a low dps weapon with crit dmg than a high dps one with no crit dmg.
Just one thing to remember, later on (Inferno), is that crit chance and crit dmg is really important for high dps. I ignored this at first and my char sucked. But yeah enjoy the game!

Skills:
- Bash (Onslaught - adds 2x25% reverberations so 205% to a single target) --> You can easily switch this to Cleave to do AOE damage, but I just love the power that comes from Bash.
- Rend (Bloodlust - gain 9% weapon dmg as life) --> well just leap into a mob and use rend, your life regen will be awesome.
- War Cry & Battlerage (+20% res & 30% more dmg)
- Furious Charge (Merciless Assault - -2seconds per enemy hit) --> You can spam this in a big mob until theres <5 mobs left.
- Leap (Iron Impact - gain 100% armor per enemy hit for 3 seconds) --> Kinda like an Ignore Pain, but you can leap!
Passives:
- Ruthless.
- Weapon Master --> depends on what weapon you have so you can switch this one if you want
- Berserker Rage (additional 25% dmg when fury is full) --> Since you only have Rend as a Fury Spender, your Fury is full 95% of the time.

I'm sorry for bunching you with the US people
About Wirt's leg. I don't think we can do something with it. I think it's just nostalgic memorabilia from the previous games. I've found Rakanishu's Blade and an Oar: :Thumbs Up:

Geez dude, 5 set pieces. I haven't found one Monk set piece thus far with either of my 5 chars at at least paragon 5...or did you buy some of them? I got a couple for my other chars, but none for ma Monk
Anyway can't really give advice since your char is better than mine and I'm not that knowledgeable But what Hoppi said about Resolve, also don't see you needing that. But since you have Mantra of Evasion, why not switch Resolve for The Guardian's Path (in your case grants you 15% to dodge incoming attacks); your dodge will be really high.
Anyway here's mine: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/KilltroX-2667/hero/4359254
My pants aren't updated yet, but it's basically the same but with res all + poison res (mines almost 600 with the pants). Also my crit dmg is also almost 400% (from my link it's calculated as 348%, but I remember it being very close to 400%).

Do you have holidays now? Not really familiar with the US school system, part from summer break which is hella long! I'm almost finished with my varsity exams and then holiday til the beginning of Feb 2013.
I take it the WD was your first choice long before you started playing? And did he/she live up to your expectations thus far? Also what's cool is that you unlock your last rune at level 60, so it's a bit of motivation to get to level 60 to see all the skill runes! And the game really gets more and more fun the longer you play or in higher difficulties!

That's how I feel about the cookie-cutter WW-barb build. If you get the correct gear (can even be mediocre gear) for this build you can blast through a whole act in minutes. Some people find this fun, but I'm just not one of them :Thumbs Up:
I've replied in another thread about the WW-barb build (1, 2)
Basically what it says is that on diabloprogress, out of all the paragon 100 chars, 44% are barbs and out of the top 50 paragon 100 barbs, only 6 didn't have WW. Yes I know most people play the barb but a percentage of 44% or even 40% of the people that has the barb as their main, are really high.
From an old reddit survey (12 000 participants): Basically evenly spread at 20% each class as main. Also more than 50% said the DH is the most powerful yet only 14.4% of the total para 100 are DH. (I don't play the DH, so I don't know how they were buffed/nerfed, but they are still probably the strongest.) As far as I know are barbs' survivability far greater than DH and why most para 100 are barbs.
PS The numbers might have changed by now and the survey I gave in that thread are very much outdated (June), so it might have also changed.
But still, a month after release, many people have already hit level 60 and was busy playing in Inferno with the surveyed participants' about 20% of each class as their main. Then why such a big increase in barb players when the paragon system was introduced? Barbs just are faster farmers.
Yeah I went off topic but not gonna delete it now
Yeah that's true, I just don't like it!

I'm exactly the same. I play to have fun and not rush through acts and/or being efficient. Watching some of these WW-barbs go through entire acts in just minutes doesn't really seem fun to me either tbh. I think most barbs that run through acts as quickly as they can only do it to level up as quickly as possible. What?! Only playing to level up? Isn't that what most people do in D3?
The build I use is probably only used by 0.01% of barbs. And I don't care, it's more fun to play with my barb build personally. The barb is the archetype of brawn and power, and that's what I want to experience playing with a barb (If you wanna know how I play with my build, just ask ) and that's exactly how he feels when I play.
All the things you said I agree with, but that's the thing, the OP doesn't care for efficiency. Diablo is a loot game and he is simply playing the loot game, regardless of how inefficient it may be.
Exactly (to all 3 of you ), as I mentioned above, Diablo is a loot game. The hunt for loot is what keeps me coming back wanting more. I also only pick up yellows/legendaries. Since i have all 5 classes above level 60, picking up yellow/legendary items with one character, carefully inspecting each one wondering if it will be an upgrade for any of my other chars, is what makes the game fun.
I honestly haven't even sold 5 items on the gold AH for more than 800k each; so gold are scarce and getting better items on the AH isn't really an option. I can also add that I have only bought 3 pieces of gear [my monk's 2 weapons (AH) and my barb's weapon (in a pub game)]; the rest I found all by myself. This makes the hunt for loot even better, more fun and definitely more rewarding.

LOL, Yeah name change was for the better I think. Fresh start in BF3 triggered my willingness to change it; and I could still change my battletag so it seemed like the right option.
Why did you get D3 just now? Too busy with school or what? The only advice I can give you is that you should play till Inferno; the game gets so fun in Inferno!
