I'm not sure how this site functions daily with blue posts being really scarce. Every other day we have the "booster pack" giveway usually tagged with someones daily version of a calculator. I understand this is not Curses' problem because there is nothing worth talking about. I check this site everyday, well.. I used to but now its more of a once a week thing because I'll atleast get one day of worthy front page news.
Diablo III, 1.0.4.666 (death of the game). Making elite/champion packs not reset their health. Someone should seriously be injured for that change. People wanted the game to be difficult, now Blizzard is making it a lot lot lot easier than it already was. Don't forget about giving more items per pack also. Now you can enjoy doing the same routine over and over, but now you get a lot more junk items to vendor or salvage. More trips to the town fellas! Keep that Act III farming going strong.
Diablo III is a ship that has more holes than plugs. It started off very strong, so we know marketing did their job. Maybe its because I'm older. I played the crap out of Diablo 1, Diablo 2 but looking back I just don't know how I did it.
Ranting off. Refund please.

Yup, I'm so sure Diablo 2 is so much better. It totally wasn't 12 years of doing the same thing we're now doing in Diablo 3. Oh wait, in Diablo 3 I actually do more than run the same boss over and over and actually get to see more of the terribly bland terrain, because Diablo 2 was never just as bland with endless dim dungeons to explore! Or a bright jungle with cartoonish pygmies running around. Yup, Diablo 3 is just so terrible since you can mess around with different stuff without having to make another character or break out a third party character editor.
You have made your point so well. Everyone is just blind to how horrible this is to be playing Diablo 2.5...er, I mean Diablo 3.

Because personal experience = end of thread?
I can barely finish one farming run without getting bored. The game certainly can improve. Let's hope it does.
Of course not, no more than any other personal experience.
He still makes a valid point. If you're playing 10 hours/day it's a strong chance that you're going to grow bored of the game faster than someone playing 2 hours/day even if the game is FUCKIN AWESOME! -

Well that's sort of the issue a lot of demand for these "mediocre" items has slowed because people are getting passed that point or will just try to farm them on their own, and the better items are for the most part still too high so everyone is sort of stuck in this middle ground of not wanting to spend that much on a upgrade and the sellers are thinking "well this was worth 20million when I bought it, surely it will still sell for 8 million." and that's just not the case on a games launch when the economy is trying to settle. Until prices are gradually lowered to a point where the consumers are comfortable spending that amount of money again things aren't going to be that great.
Frankly, I wouldn't go waiting on a "settled," economy to start spending gold or selling items you think might hold some value. Although I'm not sure if that's what you're suggesting, apologies if it isn't. The fact people can't update their sell orders or place buy orders as well as the 10 slot limit generates a fairly high degree of volatility to begin with. That on top of the fact we're awaiting a content patch means the likelyhood of more predictable values in the near future is slim.
As Aaron said above, average item quality on the AH is notably higher than it was. People are less likely to list things which are completely bereft of useful stats because a much larger portion of the player base is now smart enough not to buy them up; however, that doesn't mean the market for mid-range items is dead or dying. There are plenty of players out there gearing alts for act1/2 on a budget and the quality of items they are buying isn't terribly uncommon.
I usually do 1 full act2 run each time I log in and that nets me anywhere from 3 to 5 things I know will sell for the 10-100k range and another 1-3 that will probably sell for more. Every few days I'll find something worth more than that. When in doubt I will hold onto the item and check the AH for similar. I nearly scrapped a pair of nice cold-resist monk boots the other weekend because their AR roll was very low. They ended up selling for almost a mil.
Also keep in mind that crafting materials sell like hot-cakes. One full act2 clear can pull in almost half a million worth of that stuff if you're willing to pick up the ilvl 61+ blues and drop them in town. This makes full clears take longer, but it guarantees you a higher baseline profit without the occurrence of a lucky drop. -

So... you played a horrible game for 12 hours a day for 2 months?Quote from Kalenen
This game is beyond fucking horrible. it has absolutley no end game content, All the best items are being directed to RMAH so you cant get the best items. The loot system is beyond idiotic! Ive played most of my time on my DH 450+ hours farming and during that time the only item ive gotten from farming was a pair of gloves that now i cant even get sold for 2 million! ALL of the other gear was from the fucking AH.
Ive personally fucking had enough of this game, if they dont DRASTICLY increase the fucking drop rate from mobs/bosses/champs and add some end game content this game will be stone cold dead in 2-3 months
A rediculous amount of ppl have already thrown this game in the garbage and you can add 1 more to that! = ME,
it took me 2 months of 12+ hours of farming every day to get 1 single fucking item that actually sold for 200+ million
I looked forward to this game for a really dam long time and it has given me nothing but dissapointment
I can barely sell anything on GAH or RMAH anymore since the ppl out there arent playing this piece of shit anymore
i farmed/played a lot and still havent found 1 item that sells for over 50mil, most of the people i know havent either, most people will never see that 200mil selling item drop,
From all my time playing Diablo 2 i don't think i ever found a close to perfect item, and i have clocked probably over 1500-2000 hours in that game, even more.
I don't want 200mil items overflooding the market, if you expected to find an item worth 200mil every other week then that isn't the game for you.
This isn't a MMORPG with subscription fee, i don't understand what people expect when it comes to end game content, its not like your paying more then the game cost ya 2 months ago. -

Sorry, but where was it ever said by anyone involved with the game that this game would basically lack true SP functionality? I'll wait.
That insinuates that you believe the game doesn't have single player functionality. That is what I was responding to, since it was part of the quote tree. It had some relevance to the most-recently quoted bit too.
Quote from maka
And why does Online SP imply interaction with the community? Supposedly, and according to Blizzard, the always-online measure was to curb piracy and ensure a hack-, bot-, and dupe-free gameplay. And to support the RMAH, of course. Which none of you seem to want to acknowledge. As usual.
Why does "single player" given an online format have to imply NO INTERACTIONS WITH ANYONE?
Why are your assumptions about the game so much more correct than everyone elses?
Why are you so blinded by your brutal hatred for the AH that you cannot see that D3 is D2 without offline capabilities? I notice that you can't go even a few posts without making a "RMAH IS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE" comment. And, as for the hacking/duping/botting.... if the server code were on the client computers, as it was in D2, don't you think we've had had a LOT more issues than we have had so far, given that there are so many more people playing D3 than D2 and that there is such a huge market for selling gear? Instead of being so snide, face the reality that if Blizzard didn't make this decision to be online-only, the online game would have been decimated by hacks and dupes within the first few days.
Everything you're raging about existed in D2 if you played "solo" on Battle.net. None of this is new. None of this should come as a shock. Acting ignorant of the reality of a game that existed for 10 years in this very condition is not an excuse. There is absolutely nothing different about the structure of "single" versus "multi" player games on Battle.net between Diablo 2 and 3 aside from the change to player limit from 8 to 4.

nathans1844 posted a message on Got bored of D3, made AH price checker instead? So after playing 300 hours of D3, i got to the point that it feels more like work than fun so I quit. After beating Diablo on Inferno there's no point in playing the game. I got bored one day and I started to roam around the D3 AH market and see how's it doing, I wanted to check out charts and graph and stuff but apparently the data for it aren't that readily available on the internet, so I decided to collect my own AH pricing data. DOING THIS IS MORE FUN THAN PLAYING THE GAME......how ironic. I think the D3 economy is more interesting than the game itself.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Anyway the site has a bunch of live data being push to it every 15-30 minute or so. Most of the data I just started grabbing 3-4 days ago. I think it will be very interesting to see how the economy will pan out.
So what do you guys think? I need some feedback so I can make it better.

That kind of thinking is the reason why you can't buy best of the best- it has nothing to do with landing decent gear. Saying you can't get decent because it's overpriced is such a farce. People are unhappy that they all can't have the BiS items without selling their souls. Tough. Capitalism isn't going anywhere.

Then why did you come back here? You hope for one thing, and then end the post with this.

The kids want a game like D2, but really don't know what the first 2 games were all about. +1 for you.

Since I only get to sit down a few hours a night, if at all, I get a lot of enjoyment each time I log in for the action, then cry a little at the crappy loots. We all know the game can improve in some areas, but it is far from being a crappy game.

I'm not an exploiting pile of shit, and I can bet that there are many people who play legitimately too. Not everyone is a waste of life who spends hours and hours cheating in a video game.
